We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rosie Babbitt. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rosie below.
Hi Rosie, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
Telling people I’m an astrologer and intuitive psychic isn’t the easiest thing for me to share in small talk. There’s so many misconceptions that color someone’s view on my work before I can even get into explaining all the amazing experiences I’ve had pursuing this path.
I think the biggest misconception people have about astrology is that it’s only about your sun sign and horoscopes, when in fact, that is such a small picture of your astrology chart.
Another common misconception I see about astrology is that it can predict what will happen to someone–although you can use astrology as a tool to predict the energy and timing of life events, people ultimately have free will and are the ones deciding their path forward.
As for psychic work misconceptions, most people think that only psychics hold this power to connect with loved ones, pets, or spirit guides. When in fact, EVERYONE is psychic! Unique psychic gifts may vary from person to person but the ability to communicate with the unseen is available for everyone to tap into.
Another major misconception around psychic work (that I’ve personally had to navigate) is the idea that there is “scary” or “dark” energy out there. This isn’t to say fear doesn’t feel real, but more-so that fear is a made up construct humans have made and there truly is no darkness, only light and the misconception that there is anything but light.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into being a psychic because of my late husband’s suicide in 2021. I had become a widow and single mother overnight with a dumptruck of PTSD to boot! I began searching for answers in allllll of the places–including booking my own session with psychic mediums. Many of the spiritual consultants I worked with urged me to acknowledge my own psychic abilities, as oftentimes I would already be “picturing” or feeling what they were about to express to me.
As for astrology, I wanted to understand the timing of hard events in my life as well as understanding my own intrinsic qualities that drive my personality. My desire for deeper understanding of transits and archetypes led me to becoming certified as a Mystic Astrologer through Rising Woman over 3 years ago. Ever since, I’ve been expanding my psychic tool arsenal through 1:1 mentorship in areas like animal communication, spirit communication, and channeled messages using a variety of tarot and oracle cards.
The thing that I think sets me apart in this industry is my visceral understanding of death and rebirth cycles. Most of my clients book with me to understand the very relational and timing patterns that got me into astrology in the first place. I have a strong background trauma-informed facilitation and I feel that with my personal experience and my educational background I am able to both hold the depths and difficulties of life while being a light in the darkness that helps guide people back to the internal light that already exists within themselves.
Clients have a few options to work with me. My 1:1 sessions are my signature offering and are hosted remotely via Zoom. In these sessions I combine a multitude of modalities (tarot and oracle cards, psychic mediumship, channeling, astrology readings of multiple charts). For new to returning clients, I also offer 30-minute recorded sessions that are tailored to my client’s most pressing questions and I share whatever messages spirit wants to share with them.
For people looking to simply learn more about astrology and other esoteric embodiment practices, I have a growing archive of writings and teachings available on my Substack (link provided). Within my community, I love partnering with sound bath practitioners, womb workers, yoga studios, and retreat groups. I am overjoyed to share and connect my work in collaborative opportunities because the people I meet at these events always feel so synchronistic and magical.
I’m incredibly proud of myself for taking on the task of building out a business that is highly misunderstood throughout society while also raising my daughter all these years. It’s the most rewarding work to remind someone of their intrinsic gifts and power to change the trajectory of their current circumstances.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
On January 21, 2021 I lost my husband unexpectedly to suicide. It was an incredibly traumatic experience and prompted my entire life to change overnight. I was now a single mother to a 1-year-old. I was in charge of handling his estate, managing my home, and dealing with intense PTSD symptoms all while ensuring my daughter was cared and provided for. Many of the friends and people I had in my life prior to this experience are no longer in my life. My relationships with my family changed. I also had to navigate moving houses as I could no longer reside in the home where my PTSD was constantly being triggered. In a matter of a month, I had moved into a new home and listed my old home where his passing had occurred.
The amount of growth I’ve experienced in the years since his passing is almost unbelievable and it’s made me a completely different person. This experience has helped me learn how to find safety within myself even when everything and everyone around me was changing or leaving. It also taught me how determined I am to live the life of my dreams and show my daughter that surviving through hardship is 100% possible.
Even despite losing friendships and changing family dynamics, I persevered. I still planned trips with my daughter where I taught myself to surf. I still learned to manage my own entire home by myself–even on the dark nights when night terrors were screaming within me as loud as my tantrumming daughter.
Though there are obviously still times where I’m overwhelmed with grief and rage and a slew of other emotions, I return to the deep knowing that if I can get through THAT experience, I can face anything.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the idea that we “die”. Though our bodies die, our spirits never die and we are forever. When my late-husband’s spirit would come around, I felt literally crazy. No one else in my life had had the experiences I was having and it was a complete mindset shift for me to experience.
What I’ve had to unlearn is that we aren’t just dealing with life and death but sooo much in-between and unseen. Whenever I do spirit guide work or channeling with others, I’m always blown away by how the messages I share always land spot-on with my clients (even without my full understanding of their story). I’ve really been learning to peel back my ego and preconceived beliefs and just allow what flows through me to be shared. It’s been quite a humbling experience to say the least but whenever I surrender to the messages that come through, they always lead me and my clients back to love.
