We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rosey Mcbride a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rosey , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
As a young adult I read many Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I would place myself into these stories and would tell myself that one day I would love to write a story for this book series.
Many years later, it just so happen that a good friend of mine knew a publisher and started encouraging me to write a book on my life story. One day she approached me with the opportunity to share my backstory in one chapter of a book. When this opportunity fell into my lap, I knew I couldn’t turn it down.
I figured the best way to start is by writing a short story. I shared my backstory in the book, “I’m So Glad You Left Me”. My chapter is #49, Motivation in the Shadows. My story is one of courage, self-love and resilience.
This book became a bestseller in multiple countries across the world, proving that when you share your story, you unlock the power and impact lives beyond your own.

Rosey , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
With a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education, I have dedicated over 20 years to the field of education. Holding a teaching credential and a Master’s in Education, my journey has been fueled by a passion for learning and a commitment to inspiring others. Throughout my career, I’ve drawn creativity and inspiration from my students, believing in the power of lifelong learning to transform lives. This realization led me to become a certified life coach, where I now use my experience and expertise to empower individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals. My approach is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a steadfast belief in the potential of every person I work with. My mission is to inspire others to embrace their potential, pursue their passions and lead lives filled with purpose and joy.

Together, we work to create a fulfilling life where they feel empowered and inspired. Choosing my services means choosing a partner dedicated to their growth and success.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is overcoming self-doubt.
Self-doubt can often stem from past negative experiences or fear of failure. My backstory is that when I decided to become a certified life coach, I was excited to share my new journey with people I know. They would laugh or have a million questions which made me doubt myself and my life’s purpose. It made me afraid to fail and I started to self- sabotage myself with these thoughts.
Then I had to see myself as a person of value. I learned to be kind to myself and treat myself with compassion. I replaced negative thoughts with positive affirmations. I learned to embrace failure. I now understand that failure is part of growth and I view it as a valuable learning opportunity. We can not grow without making mistakes. Growth mindset is extremely important.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Yes, If I could go back, I definitely would choose the same profession of being an elementary school teacher. I teach all subjects to primary school age students. I take pride in making a difference in my students’ lives. When I go home everyday, I know I’ve made the world a little better. Children have an insight into the world that isn’t tainted by disappointment.
I draw creativity and inspiration from my students. My love of teaching and interacting with people led me to the path of becoming a certified life coach. Life coaching allows me to directly support individuals in making positive changes, fostering personal growth and fulfillment.
