Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rosemary Simpson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Rosemary thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

I have always had a corporate job as back up and did my business on the side, until recently. I have been a licensed cosmetologist, taking clients at home and traveling to them for over 12 years, but I also kept a job at an hourly paying salon AND/or(at times) at a call center/warehouse/ect.

I decided in 2022 that I would let go of the corporate world for many reasons. The main one being that I had managed so many salons that I KNEW I was not being paid fair wages, not just in hair, but in any field. Once I understood the pyramid that is corporate America, I refused to stay in the rat race and decided to go and get my own cheese.

Think about how many people are full time employees for mega companies, yet they still have to utilize government assistance because they cannot afford to live,eat and be social at the same time. Especially households with children and I have 5 of them!

I am happy with the highs and lows of entrepreneurship because on my slow weeks, I still make more than I made on fast weeks in corporate America. I don’t have anyone keeping 100% and pinching me off hourly. I also don’t have someone keeping 60% and pinching me off 40% . I can honestly pick and choose my own schedule, so that takes away the time restraints of being on “the man’s” clock!

I also, as a contracted hairdresser, am able to bring my children to work with me on days I don’t have a sitter or school is out of session because I pay for my own booth and I run my own business.

Outside of that, I can exercise my full freedom of speech in my literature and in my social media platforms because I do not have a “boss” who is watching me, waiting for a reason to reprehend or fire me.

I am genuinely happy and I am excited for the future endeavors God allows me to excel in!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Rosemary Simpson, I go by Rosie, owner and operator of The RosieXperience LLC. I’m an author/cosmetologist/ content creator and an abuse survivor. I coined the phrase “ The RosieXperience “ as a fully encompassed view of my journey, overcoming obstacles and keeping God first as I heal and raise my children.

My novel, Faith.Family. Freedom: The RosieXperience is available for purchase on the Barnes and Noble website, my link is in my bio on all of my social media platforms.

The problem I solve for my clients is being a walking testimony of how good God is when you truly surrender your life to Him and follow the purpose that He has for your life. A lot of people don’t believe it’s possible to fulfill your purpose AND be able to pay your bills and live a carefree life, but it is. I do not place value in things of this world, so I can give my time, finances and wisdom freely, because I know who my source is.

My goal is to travel, speaking to crowds about the way that God pulled me out of an abusive situation that nearly ended my life, turned me away from all of my wicked ways and upgraded my crafts in such a way that I know I’m good no matter my circumstances.

I am able to touch thousands of souls daily on my social media, namingly Tiktok, YT and FB, but I am on more platforms. I show the highs and lows of being a survivor, a single mother and a boss on my entrepreneurial journey.

I recently published a book entitled Faith. Family. Freedom: The RosieXperience to help women get a glimpse of how deep you can be in sin and still make your way out. I nearly died multiple times in my life, but with Gods grace, I’m standing here, living proof that the road does get smoother !

From July 2018-Sept 2021, my children’s father broke my jaw, my ribs, caused me to have a miscarriage, hit me and called me out of my name daily and threatened my life with weapons on an almost daily basis.

I was not mentally equipped to deal with him, I had 3 toddlers and a newborn baby, I was working full time and I was scared of my home life.

My family had no clue, because I felt embarrassed to share that although I divorced an abuser 3 years prior, I was in the thick of a worse situation. His family enabled his behavior and I smoked a lot of weed and drank alcohol to numb the pain.

Fast forward to Sept 2021, I went to a domestic violence shelter in KC, nearly 4 hrs from my hometown, and never looked back.

It was very lonely and still is at times, but the switch that happened in my heart and mind made all the difference. I was discipled into a proper relationship with Christ, that was the deal breaker to all of the sins I was living in.

I decided to let go of weed and alcohol, I started to go to church regularly and eventually, I was able to stop cursing, change up the music I enjoyed and give my kids a safe environment to live in.

I was able to write and self publish my novel, Faith. Family. Freedom: The RosieXperience on Barnes and nobles website. I was able to walk through everything that was holding my spirit back and hand it over to God.

I now give back to the community by sharing my experiences on my social media platforms, speaking to crowds about my testimony and I have poured more of myself into my hair business than ever before.

All of that while being a full time aunty/mom to my 13 year old nephew and a full time mom to my 6,5,4&3 year old children.

My life is not easy, but nothing worth living ever is!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My mission is to assist the masses in overcoming obstacles sent to destroy them by sharing my Xperience as a single mother and an abuse survivor, still killing it in the entrepreneurial world, thus giving ocular proof that changing your MIND and growing closer to God, yields a positive change in your LIFE!
