We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rosemary Nwaosuagwu a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rosemary, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
It is always good to have customers/ supporters in any business. My customers are the people that help to build my business. Hence, I am always grateful for my customers and their support. Whether it is buying my products, word of mouth to their peers of my business and/ or just giving words of encouragement to me, I am always appreciative of all them. Hence, some ways that I show my appreciation to my customers/ supporters are sending thank you emails, and posting on my social media pages-(Facebook page and Instagram page) a customer appreciation expressing my gratitude and thanking my customers for their support. By doing so, it lets the customers know that I really appreciate them and am grateful. This is important because when customers feel appreciated they will continue to support me and my brand.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Books by Rossy is a business/platform that was created to showcase children’s books that I write. I am a child author/kid entrepreneur. I’ve always been interested in reading books. Hence, my business allows me to showcase my own books that I write. It also encourages children to learn as they read, as well as enjoy reading as they learn. What excited me the most about creating my business was that I wanted to write books to educate, inspire, and bring joy to children all over the world. I also wanted to show kids just like me that they can achieve anything that they set their minds to.
I am currently known for my Lily Book Series. I am most proud of the number of children I inspire through my stories. I like to use my imagination to create stories. I started writing stories at the age of six. My first book “Lily’s Favorite Color”, was written to help children learn and explore their basic colors. At the age of 7 years old, I wrote and published my second book – “Come Along and Count with Lily”, which was written to introduce children to counting and helping them with early literacy skills. At the age of 8, I wrote and published my third children’s book – “ABC Affirmations with Lily”, which was written to help children learn positive affirmations using each letter of the alphabet from A through Z that they can say each and every day.
What sets me apart from others is my desire to go above and beyond to motivate and inspire children all over the world. Here at Books by Rossy, I believe that education is needed especially in our world today, where race becomes something that divides us as people. I want to be able to continue to showcase the books that are written where we are able to represent people especially those of color through the educational system.
I am most proud of the community events I’ve been able to attend to interact with my supporters of all ages and showcase my published books and the many networks I have had the opportunity to come across! Being a published author of three children’s books, so far, has been a huge accomplishment and a blessing. So far, the road has been smooth and exciting! Even with COVID-19 interrupting so many lives and businesses, I still kept a positive attitude and kept my head up high. In any business, I have learned that in order for any dream to become a reality, it does take a lot of effort, dedication and determination. Also, I have also learned that every accomplishment that I made really did start with my decision to try without giving up.
Now, I am an author of three published children’s books. I have so much fun creating stories from my imagination that help children learn in many ways. All of my books are currently available online at Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Wal-Mart and on my website www.booksbyrossy.com! I love motivating other children and inspiring them! I know that if children all over the world set their minds to their dreams, I believe they can achieve anything!
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Having repeated customers is always a plus to any business. It is important for my customers to know that I am appreciative of them and that they are very valuable asset when it comes to my brand. Hence, ways I keep in touch with my customers are through email and my social media pages-(Facebook and Instagram). Ways that I foster brand loyalty may be offering discounts on my products, posting thank you / appreciation post, engaging/ connecting with my customers, and/ or letting my customers know that I value their feedback which helps me to know what I can do better, in order to better serve my customers
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One effective way that I have grown my Clientele has been through vendor events. Attending such events, allows me to not only showcase my business to customers but also to network with others which helps me build relations that can bring in new customers. Another effective strategy/ way of growing my clientele has been through advertisements and referrals/word of mouth on social media pages. Also, having all three of my books- Lily’s Favorite Color”, “Come Along and Count with Lily”, and ABC Affirmation with Lily”, on several platforms, such as Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and Wal-Mart, has helped in growing my Clientele.
