We recently connected with Rosemary Lewis and have shared our conversation below.
Rosemary, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The first big risk I ever took was back in 2014 when my husband and I decided to relocate from Chicago to the Dallas area with our two sons. We didn’t know a single person here, but we both felt a strong call and pull to make the move. Once we settled in and realized how much we loved it, that leap of faith set the stage for me to start embracing even bigger risks and trying new things.
Three years later, while sitting on the balcony of my church, I made the decision to leave my 14-year career as an elementary school teacher and go full-time into real estate. I had no savings, no real plan—just a hunch from God that this was the direction He wanted me to go. Looking back, it’s hands down the best decision I’ve ever made.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
If we’ve never met before let me introduce myself, I’m Rosemary Lewis, your Real Estate Bestie™. Professionally I wear two hats. First, I’m a real estate broker who helps families buy and sell homes with confidence. For me, it’s never just about the transaction. I see every deal as a life moment, and my job is to listen, guide, negotiate, and celebrate alongside my clients. When you work with me, you’re not just getting a realtor. You’re getting someone who cares deeply about your family and who will always show up as your forever homegirl in real estate.
The other hat I wear is as the founder of the Real Estate Bestie™ community, where I coach and mentor women in real estate to build six and multiple six figure businesses without losing themselves, their faith, or their families in the process. Through coaching programs, masterminds, live events, and resources, I help agents create simple systems, grow their confidence, and learn how to run a business that is not only profitable but also aligned with their values.
What sets me apart is that I bring a teacher’s heart and real life experience to everything I do. I know the highs and lows of this business and I’ve lived through the doubts, the setbacks, and the breakthroughs. That’s why my approach is always practical and encouraging. I want my clients and my coaching students to feel seen, supported, and equipped to take action.
I am most proud of the community that has grown from this work. What started as sharing tips online has blossomed into retreats, masterminds, and conferences where women are finding not just business growth but also authentic connection and faith filled encouragement.
If you are new to me or my brand here’s what I want you to know. I believe God has a plan for your business and your life, and when you take brave steps in obedience amazing things happen. My mission is to help you take those steps with confidence, whether you are buying or selling a home or building a business you love.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first became a real estate agent, I built my audience on social media by doing a live video series called Friday Favorites. Every Friday, I would show up at a model home, pick one house, and walk through it while highlighting all the amazing things about the property. The funny part is, I didn’t even have any clients at the time. I just made the decision that no matter what, I was going to show up every single week.
Now, I’d love to tell you that I started out confident and polished, but those first videos were rough—like really rough, lol. But here’s the thing, I stayed consistent. I’ll never forget the day a friend called me and said she and her husband were building a new home. She told the builder that she absolutely had to use me as her agent because I was the expert in new construction. The truth? At that point, I had never sold a single new construction home in my life. But because I showed up every week and gave people a reason to see me as knowledgeable, I earned her trust.
That experience taught me that social media isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present, being consistent, and building trust with your audience. My best advice for anyone just starting out is simple: show up. Even if you don’t feel ready, even if your first videos make you cringe, keep going. Consistency builds credibility, and credibility builds community.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I first started my YouTube channel, my focus was on giving home selling and home buying advice. I wanted to educate consumers and position myself as a trusted realtor. But after a couple of years in the business, something unexpected happened. I started getting calls from other agents who were curious about what I was doing to find success.
One day, almost by accident, I filled in for my team leader to run a mastermind training. That moment changed everything for me. Standing in front of other agents, sharing what I’d learned, lit something up inside of me that I didn’t even know was there. I honestly thought my teaching career was over when I left the classroom, but that day reminded me how much I loved teaching, coaching, and supporting others.
I also realized a deeper truth—there’s only so much I can do in my own real estate business. I don’t have the desire to grow a massive team, but I do have the desire to mentor and equip women in real estate to build big businesses and become lights in the marketplace.
That’s when I pivoted my YouTube channel. Instead of only speaking to buyers and sellers, I began creating content for what is now the Real Estate Bestie™ community. Twice a week, I show up to provide knowledge, practical tips, encouragement, and faith lessons to help women grow both personally and professionally. That pivot has been one of the most fulfilling decisions of my career.
