We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rose Cushing. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rose below.
Rose, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I was a publisher for many years of an equestrian magazine, Southeast Hoofbeats. After I wrote my book and began two podcasts for authors I was considering becoming a book publishing company. It was a natural progression. While considering this NC Poet Laureate 2015-2018 Shelby Stephenson asked me to publish his latest book of poetry. That made up my mind.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Rose Cushing is an author, publisher, documentary filmmaker, television show host, and podcaster.
She loves horses, gardening, cooking, and writing. Rose enjoys meeting people, public speaking, and lake life!
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with great authors! Cushing Publishing is a small traditional publishing house.
Rose has a new book available now, Chasing the Wind. A blend of romance, adventure, and travel.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As an author, I see how difficult it is for good writers to get noticed by agents, publishers and potential buyers. My mission is to give these writers an opportunity to be published and get effective marketing strategies for their sales.
