Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rose Clark. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rose, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on in my brand was attending New York Fashion Week in 2024! It was such an exhilarating experience. I hosted a fundraising gala in my home town and the support was amazing, the process of designing and creating the pieces with my team was such a meaningful experience. I will never forget it and I won’t try to do anything to surmount that achievement, I will only keep working to create more amazing experiences like it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Rose Clark. I am a fashion designer and art teacher running my own sustainable fashion brand called NO BiAS.
NO BiAS is a sustainable fashion brand that offers various genres of fresh, stylish, sustainable, and size-inclusive pieces that empower all people to boldly show the world who they are. is working to break the mold when it comes to street wear and luxury fashion. The brand’s ethos centers around the use of upcycled and recycled materials, which not only contributes to a more sustainable future but also adds a unique touch to each piece of clothing.
The designs are a blend of street wear and chaotic luxury, creating an aesthetic that is truly unique. No BiAS is not limited to street wear, as the brand also aims to create gowns and couture designs that are equally sustainable and fashion-forward. The brand’s commitment to sustainability is not just a trend but a core value, and it is reflected in every aspect of the business.
Our mission is to encourage the world’s perspective on sustainability, to speak life into the garments we wear, and to showcase our individuality without sacrificing our uniqueness.
Our sustainable brand aims to partner with local shelters for the unhoused in Indiana. Through this program, NO BiAS, instead of discarding leftover fabrics from garment production and contributing to environmental waste, will repurposes every scrap. Smaller fabric pieces are shredded into filling, while larger remnants are saved to create pillows for the homeless, ensuring a sustainable and purposeful approach to fashion.
We will donate these pillows to keep our community feeling feed by our endeavors, and to give back to those who believe in us.
Our highest achievement was at New York Fashion Week fall of 2024, and it was nothing short of epic! We hit the billboards in Times Square, showing the world what sustainable streetwear and couture is all about. We even had the chance to gift a custom tee to hip-hop sensation Glorilla, which was a serious highlight. From vibing with designers from all over the globe to making a bold statement for eco-friendly fashion, it was an unforgettable experience. NO BiAS isn’t just breaking into the scene—we’re rewriting the rules.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is beating my own imposter syndrome. Whenever I actually create something, I prove to myself that I’m capable of anything—that I’m talented and able. It can feel really hard to self-motivate through that imposter-feeling because life gets in the way, comparison draws near, and I tend to forget how skilled I am. I love when I get to prove myself capable.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Helping! I love help, and it can be extremely hard to ask for it—especially when I don’t know how to do something or when I’m unsure about which direction to take. The people in my life who have volunteered to help me with sewing projects, expanding my social media reach, or planning events have become some of my greatest friends. We’ve helped each other in so many ways-n and out of the industry,- we’ve created lasting memories, and I’ve learned so much from what they’ve shared with me. It truly means more to have people help me without expecting anything in return than it does to get help just to earn more money.
