Alright, Rose thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

Truly, I thank God for the womb that birthed me into the world. DLH, I love you. One thing my mother did right in my life was introduce me to God as a child. Being raised in church rooted me in God and anchored me in faith. Thanks to my upbringing, I have managed to overcome trials and tribulations gracefully. Nothing in this world compares to the sovereign impact or blessings God has manifested in my life. I am beyond grateful to be loved and made by eternal love. I thank my mother with everything in me for introducing me to God as a child.

My name is Rose Bass. I am a survivor of domestic violence. I am an emerging actress and author. I am also a licensed minister. I am known as a life coach, mentor, spiritual advisor, counselor, motivational speaker, and a domestic violence advocate. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

As a survivor of domestic violence, a powerful lesson I had to unlearn was love is not abuse nor is it abusive. I had to unlearn the lie that violence is a part of love. I learned what love is from experiencing all that love is not. God is love. Those who don’t know him do not know what love is. Love is not that funny feeling in your stomach. Emotions and feelings are housed in our soulish realm. They change daily. Love is a positive force. It is the spirit of God. Love loves to be seen and will never cause us to be blind of its existence.

4 Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. 8 Love never fails [it never fades nor ends].

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

No words can share or showcase my resilience like my first testimonial book. WiTH MY HEAD LiFTED UP details my strength in times of hard trials. It speaks volumes about God’s supernatural grace that allowed me to weather tumultuous storms. During the time I was in an abusive relationship, I persevered through depression that would have left others taking prescriptions for life. I spiritually grew through the pain of trials that were designed to have resentment, unforgiveness, and bitterness ruling my heart. I also endured long suffering that would have caused others to walk away from their faith in God. I survived what others would have committed suicide experiencing. I survived what others would have lost their minds going through. I survived a dark, dangerous, and deadly reality that snatch the lives of countless women and teenage girls everyday globally. I was faithful, devoted, and loyal to my abuser until I woke up and realized that dying before my time was not apart of God’s plan for my life. I have been healed and delivered to help open the eyes of women and teenage girls. The assignments of my transparency and testimonies is to bring healing and deliverance into the lives of domestic violence victims.
