We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rosa Ore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rosa , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about how you got your first non-friend, non-family client. Paint the picture for us so we can feel the same excitement you felt on that day.
After working in the educational arena for over 20 years, I decided to be an entrepreneur and start my own digital marketing company. I didn’t have any idea how I was going to land my first client because I thought it required me being an aggressive and annoying salesperson. But that was far from the truth. What I soon learned was that my gift and desire to serve would bring potential to me. It was actually a lot easier than I thought and it did not require me to be aggressive or annoying.
I decided to go to a networking event with my friend and practice my sales pitch. I was terrified, but I was not going to allow fear to stop me from moving forward into my calling. The great thing about my friend was that she loved meeting new people and starting conversations. That evening she was wing person. So we went around the room shaking hands and exchanging business cards. Finally, we met this one woman that was the owner of a Title company and needed help with marketing her business on social media. This was the perfect opportunity for me to give her my sales pitch and book the meeting. My palms were sweaty and my heart was beating fast, but I did not allow my fear stop me from talking with confidence about my business. I explained what I did and the services that my company provided and she loved it. The great thing about this encounter was that it all happened so naturally. The conversation was not forced and I did not have to convince her that she needed my help. She knew she needed help and was looking to connect with the right person that understood her marketing needs. That night I left there with an appointment with a potential client and a confidence level higher than ever.
I was grateful for my friend and learned that I needed to have more confidence in myself and the services my business provided. I prepared for my meeting by doing all the appropriate research about my potential client’s business and designed a unique marketing strategy that would elevate her business to the next level. I met my client at her office and did my presentation. After an hour of talking and presenting, she signed the contract and became my first client. I left her office walking on cloud nine and knew that this was the beginning of a great future for my business. After this, my confidence continued to grow and I began to land more and more clients. I still get nervous when I meet potential clients, but I am no longer afraid of being turned down because I know my services are highly needed by someone else.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have always been passionate about helping and empowering women. As a Latina born and raised in New York City, I saw my mother and many other women fight hard to reach some level of success, but never fully achieving their dreams. I decided then to do everything in my power uplift and empower women. The first thing I did was educate myself and complete a Master of Arts degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Then I began using my gifts and talents to teach other women how to be great leaders and entrepreneurs.
About four years ago, I began a YouTube channel called, Latina Leaders Leaving A Legacy, where I teach leadership principles from a woman’s perspective. Although it was scary, I learned how to use Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to get a positive message out to the world. In the process of using social media to impact women, I discovered the power of social media and its ability to help a business grow. Soon, everything I was posting was getting so much attention, the other entrepreneurs began asking me to help them develop their social media accounts. As a result, Global Rose Media (GRM) was established as a company where people’s inner beauty and strengths would be put on full display for the world to see in a professional, classy and sophisticated manner. I soon began to get so many clients that I had to hire a team of professionals that were ready to dedicate their talents and resources to expanding an individual’s and company’s brand influence. Today, the Global Rose Media team works hard to help entrepreneurs and businesses increase their visibility and influence in the digital world. We provide top of the line social media management, brand development, website development, graphic designs, marketing strategies and consultations. As I worked on expanding my digital marketing company, I began connecting with many Latina entrepreneurs like me that needed encouragement, empowerment, and support. This led me to officially launch, Latina Leaders, Inc. because I believe that Latinas are powerful women that possess many talents, abilities and gifts that have been hidden for too long. As a Latina, I have learned that when we elevate women, our families, businesses, and societies prosper. This is why I created a leadership mentoring program that introduces women to a new perspective of leadership and empowers them to rise and take their place as a leader in their homes, jobs, businesses, and communities. This program offers 1:1 mentoring and group learning opportunities. It is an eight-week mentoring plan that is filled with group discussions, self-reflection, research, and targeted reading recommendations that empower women. To sign-up for this dynamic powerful program visit latinaleaderslegacy.com.
Soon after that, I started, Prism3, Inc., a non-profit organization because I saw the need to help women achieve their academic and career goals. Many women have big dreams, but do not have the income or resources to achieve them. The non-profit’s mission is to rebuild the inner strength and identity of women around the world. The vision is to provide educational and financial resources to organizations and individuals that empower women.
In 2021, we partnered up with an organization in Medellin, Colombia called Mujer Talento (Talented Woman), which educates and empowers women that are escaping human trafficking, prostitution, and domestic violence. This was such a phenomenal experience that we have made it an annual goal to visit a different country and bring transformational educational and financial resources to women. Right now, we are planning a trip to Lima, Peru and we are in the process of collecting financial donations as well as clothes and shoes for women and children. For more information on how to make a donation, please visit our website at prism3inc.com.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
In my journey as an entrepreneur, I have learned that authenticity is the key to growing your clientele. People are looking for help and they will only go to people they trust and can give them real answers. They do not want to deal with fast talkers and great salesman. The gift of gab is not the answer to getting new clients. It is authenticity.
I love listening to my clients and hearing what they have to say. The more I listen, the more I learn. This creates a unique connection between myself and my client. I get excited to hear clients express their dreams, goals and aspirations for themselves and for their business. My free consultations give me the opportunity to get to the core of who they are as an entrepreneur and then turn around and develop their brand that completely exemplifies their uniqueness. It also allows me to prepare a strong marketing strategy that meets all their marketing needs.
As entrepreneurs, we are problem solvers and great listeners that empower others to achieve success!
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients has been word of mouth and social media. Once you are able to connect with one person and gain their trust, they will recommend you to their friends and colleagues. People are the best source of capital in the world. People talk and they love to tell stories of great experiences. If a client had an amazing experience with your company, they will tell the world about it. However, on the flip side, if they had a negative encounter, they will also tell the world. I highly recommend that we always provide a phenomenal experience to all people we engage with or do business with.
Another great source for gaining clients is social media. People are watching you on social media, whether you believe it or not. They love to see what you are up to and what you are accomplishing. Social media gives us the unique opportunity to reach a potential client without ever entering their home, emailing or calling them. We can connect with them without ever leaving our homes or our office. Social media is very powerful if done correctly. Therefore, post content that gives your audience value. Give tips and tricks on how to improve their business and how to grow their income. Once you begin educating your clients through social media, they will reach out to you for more help. I can tell you that it works and it’s powerful! I highly recommend using social media and if you do not know how to use it, reach out to professionals like me! We are here to help!!
