Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to ROS. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
ROS, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
It actuality, my entire adult life, post-undergrad, has been a risk. I moved to Atlanta initially post-graduation with $735, no job, knowing few people here, etc…with a hustler’s mentality and a head full of dreams. It was magical (mostly) as a whole…but…definitely came with some SIGNIFICANT challenges for sure.
Still, from internships at D.A.R.P. (Dallas Austin Recording Projects} to jobs at everything from the YMCA to Record Town at Northlake Mall (THROWBACK) to a life-changing 3 year weekend residency at the legendary Golden Glide Skating Rink on the Eastside, I took every chance and position needed to move the dreams forward.
Was broke A LOT and not really sure if things would work out eventually. Still, on reflection, there is very little I would change. So many AMAZING experiences came about in that season of challenge and risk. It built me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Welp…
I am the true definition of a multi-hyphenate: record producer, songwriter, book author, part-time actor, international DJ, recording artist, creative agency owner, streetwear designer, live event producer, and a few other things. So, pinning down to a stranger where to start when explaining what I do for a living is always challenging. People want to know what box to put you in — but I always tell them that will never work when it comes to me and my life.
I do everything that I’m into and, at this point in my life, only what I’m into. Clients generally find out about what I do professionally through word of mouth, referrals, or by hearing or seeing me perform live as a DJ.
As for what makes me different — that’s not a lens I view life through. I trust the universe to guide me toward who I need, and to guide them toward me. This organic approach keeps me out of the field of comparison. I do what I do well, and those who rock with it, rock with it.
I’m proudest of reaching a point in my journey where I’m 1000% comfortable in the skin I’m in and with what I bring to the dance.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My drive is fed by being an example and resource for my two daughters: Hailey & Aria. They are coming of age in a time vastly different than the world we inhabited in our youth,
Therefore, as they watch a dad who has been an entrepreneur the bulk of their lives go about life and building things for himself, I hope that that mindset is both inspirational and educational.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I tell EVERY dreamer I meet, especially when giving talks or on panels, the following: there are few things in life even remotely comparable to the day when something you first saw in your thoughts you see with your eyes.
Dreaming, then building is an experience I pray any who want to experience gets the chance to.
