We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ronnie Spice a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ronnie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I had the opportunity to work with an extremely talented electronic artist and producer from Mallorca Spain. He goes by the name “Hank Goro” and we just recently released a track titled “ In Your F#%+=+€ Face remix. One of the reasons I found this project so meaningful is that we have never met both live in two different parts of the world. Yet despite that we have been able to put our talents together and release a song that not only is doing well out there but one I personally am very proud of.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well I have always been into the arts in one way or another at a young age. I took a love for the theater that also developed into film. I have always enjoyed experimenting with sounds of all sorts and music in all genres. I would say I’ve always had a creative way about myself that’s made life a lot more enjoyable.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I have found that in my journey I have been able to not only get to know but also work with other creative artists as well. For example I’ve worked on several film projects with director, writer and producer Andrew van Baal. In fact we are currently working on a southwestern ghost story by the name “Jo & Joe” also starring my good friend Jolene Andersen. So this is a reward in itself to be able to be creative but also experience it with your friends. That I find is absolutely priceless and meaningful.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Well I’m about to turn 50 yrs and I’m still at it. I have had many ups and downs and times I just wanted to quit. I still have times when I feel like nobody likes my music or could care less what I’m involved in. But at the end of the day I still find pride and lessons within myself through many art forms. I really enjoy doing what I do because it keeps me happy and active.
