Admittedly, embracing risk doesn’t come with an air of excitement. It’s a challenging path that has, nonetheless, proven instrumental in times of necessary change. Life, I’ve realized, can be navigated by this very principle: to accept the challenges it presents with an unwavering determination to overcome them.

I vividly recall the pivotal decision I made to leave behind the country of my birth and upbringing—St. Kitts & Nevis—for the bustling streets of Atlanta, Georgia. Transparency compels me to admit that fear had its grip on me, knowing I’d be leaving behind the mother and baby sisters I held dear to my heart. But there was a singular reason propelling me forward: the aspiration to transcend the ordinary and manifest the vision I held for myself. It was a dream that demanded a larger canvas, even though the means to capture it remained uncertain.

Upon arriving in Atlanta, I was thrust into a whirlwind of cultural differences and unfamiliarity. A mere 22 years old at the time, I now realize I was akin to a fledgling in a new world. My aspiration to become a renowned music producer was my beacon, albeit one that required relentless perseverance. The path was marked by trials and tribulations, far from a leisurely stroll. There were moments when life necessitated a pause on my dreams—a sacrifice demanded of me for the sake of responsibilities, particularly my role as a parent.

During these pauses, my dream remained a persistent echo, a haunting whisper that urged me to reclaim it. As life continued to present its challenges, I recognized that my creative spirit and unyielding determination were the only assets I had left. It was at this juncture that the essence of “taking risk” resurfaced, fortified by an unshakable vow to persist until I materialized the purpose I’d journeyed to America to fulfill.

In this process, I unearthed unexplored facets of my creative mind. The world of film captivated me, and I ventured into cinematography—a realm that held endless fascination. Simultaneously, I continued my pursuit of music, albeit with a transformational shift: I transitioned into a DJ. As life unfolded, it became evident that the horizon of possibilities extended beyond my initial expectations.

Amidst the uncertainty of a world grappling with quarantine, I found myself soaring with a newfound freedom. The destination was uncertain, but the journey was undeniable. Over the past three years, I’ve plunged headlong into roles that I once deemed beyond my grasp. I’ve directed music visuals, curated musical blends that have served diverse projects, and astonishingly, ventured into the realm of fashion—a domain I never thought would be my own.

My evolution was indispensable, a realization that dawned upon me. Without pushing the boundaries and embracing risk, I would have remained oblivious to the depths of my potential. Today, I stand as a testament to the power of transformation through audacious choices. Not only am I a DJ, but I’ve also blossomed into a Creative Director across music, film, and fashion—an unexpected trinity of disciplines that have opened doors I could never have fathomed.

I’m an individual fueled by creativity and a relentless drive to break barriers. My name is Ronnie M. Mills, and my journey into the world of creativity began on a 68-square-mile island, St. Kitts & Nevis. As a kid, I would watch America from a television screen day and night, envisioning myself one day making movies and creating captivating music and soundscapes. This longing, combined with an innate fascination for the arts, led me to delve headfirst into the realms of music and film entertainment.

2. What type of products/services/creative works do you provide?

My repertoire of creative works spans across diverse realms, reflecting my unwavering dedication to innovation. I am a DJ-Producer and a burgeoning filmmaker, operating under the monikers “Lightitupdrizz” and “Lightitupfilm.” From directing captivating music visuals to curating musical mixes that resonate with various projects, my creative spectrum extends to fashion as well.

3. What problems do you solve for your clients and/or what sets you apart from others in your field?

I specialize in translating ideas into immersive experiences that captivate audiences. Whether through music, film, or fashion, I craft experiences that resonate deeply.
