We were lucky to catch up with Ronnie Carew recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ronnie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Our mission is to empower others to elevate their business presence with purpose, creativity, and community while also making sure to remember to do the same for our company. Too often we lose ourselves in helping others attain their goals and end up neglecting our own. We have to show up as our best selves to give our best to others.

Hi! I’m Ronnie, the owner of Engage Content Studios—a boutique creative space in Gwinnett County designed with photographers, content creators, and business owners in mind. I launched this studio out of a personal need for a well-equipped, aesthetically pleasing, and flexible space to create professional content without breaking the bank. Guided by faith, what started as a passion project quickly grew into a business dedicated to helping others show up confidently and consistently in their brands.

At Engage, we offer hourly studio rentals for photo shoots, podcast recordings, small events, branding sessions, and workshops. Our space is more than just a backdrop, it’s a launchpad for entrepreneurs to bring their visions to life. We also provide a cozy, private, and intentionally designed environment that makes content creation feel easy and enjoyable.

What sets us apart is the experience we offer. We’re not a “big box” studio. We’re personal. We care. And our clients aren’t just booking space, they’re gaining a supportive partner in their brand journey. I’m most proud of the community we’ve built: seeing clients walk in with a vision and walk out with professional content that levels up their business is the most rewarding part.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Just a few months after launching my business, I received a breast cancer diagnosis that completely shook my world. I was still in the early stages of building my business, figuring things out as I went when I suddenly had to face surgery, recovery, and the emotional weight of navigating a life-changing diagnosis.

There were days I questioned if I had the strength to keep going. But I knew I had something special in this space I created. Even while healing, I stayed present responding to bookings, updating the space, showing up however I could. I leaned on my faith and my business partners, stayed focused on the vision, and reminded myself that tough seasons don’t last, but purpose-driven work does.

That experience didn’t stop my journey, it fueled it. It taught me the power of perseverance and gave even more meaning to the community I serve. Every booking, every client win, every piece of content created in this studio feels like a celebration of survival, strength, and walking in purpose.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

While our social media, especially Instagram has been amazing for connecting with new clients and showcasing our space, I’ve actually seen the most consistent client traffic come from Google. It’s been our top referral source, which surprised me at first, but it really showed me how powerful that platform can be when used intentionally.

I encourage other business owners to invest time into optimizing their Google Business listings. From updating photos and responding to reviews to using keywords in your business description and posting regular updates, there are so many underutilized features that can boost your visibility. A lot of businesses overlook it, but Google is where many people go when they’re actively searching for services so it’s a missed opportunity if you’re not showing up strong there.
