We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ronna Larsen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ronna below.
Alright, Ronna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Being in the travel industry, it is essential to experience different destinations firsthand to better understand the places I recommend to clients. It helps me gather valuable insights about hotels, local attractions, and the overall travel experience, enabling me to provide more personalized and accurate recommendations. It also allows me to build relationships with local service providers, stay updated on the latest travel trends, and attend industry events. It’s like professional development with a side of adventure!
The same holds true in part for any business owner. Vacations provide a valuable opportunity for business owners to gain perspective. Stepping away from the daily grind allows them to reflect on their business, set new goals, and strategize for the future. It’s a chance to detach from the day-to-day stresses and gain a clearer vision for the direction of their company.
With a little pre-planning and delegating of responsibilities any business owner can take a well-deserved break. The key is to communicate your plans to your team in advance, giving them time to prepare for your absence, along with setting some boundaries such as only checking emails at a specific time of day so you can stay connected without letting work take over your vacation.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that, can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’ve always enjoyed keeping up with what’s new and exciting in many travel destinations, especially Disney. Because of that passion, I became the person my friends and family would call to help plan their trips. Today, I work one-on-one with clients who are looking for cherished travel memories that last a lifetime.
Consider me your passport to magical vacations and unforgettable adventures! As a seasoned travel enthusiast and dedicated professional, I can share my expertise as a travel agent specializing in all things Disney, Cruises, All-Inclusive Resorts, and the tropical paradise of Hawaii
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in touch with clients by sending out a weekly newsletter that focuses on travel tips and trending destinations. I also reach out to them several times before their trips to offer tips as well as after they return. This is not only to thank them for their business but also to ask for feedback about their trip.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by posting engaging and valuable travel tips. At first I asked friends and clients to follow along with placing some low budget Facebook ads. I admit, in the beginning it felt like I was never going to beef up my social media presence. But little by little it started growing. My advice to those starting out is to have patience and to not only post frequently. But to make sure the posts are engaging and prompt responses.
