We recently connected with Ronesha Blunt and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ronesha, thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I’ve always liked makeup, but my love grew over the years. I never really thought it was a gift but one day it all hit me! I’ll say around September of 2021. I had a very bad car accident & had to have plastic surgery on my forehead which left a scar! Honestly it made me a little insecure & depressed. So the first thing I did was got up & did my makeup! I practice day after day, and it made me feel better, it made me feel beautiful. I knew that day, this was something I wanted to do! Not only did I create Rare Beautè Artistry to do makeup, but to enhance your inner beauty. The littlest things can make the biggest difference!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into this industry because feeling beautiful is the best feeling EVER!!! Walking around; taking pictures, flaunting your new hair & makeup for everyone to see, nothing beats that! It does take a lot discipline, creating content, knowing time management, thinking of new ideas or new ways to actually gain clientele, and repeated customers. It’s hard to not compare, but it’s best not to. You never know who someone know, how they know them & what they had to do to get to that specific point in their career! I’m proud of all of the progress I’ve made in a year’s time frame! I’ve been VERY consistent. My love for my business & craft is growing on a daily & I can’t wait to come across more great people! Honestly I get some great advice from so many clients & vice versa.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media isn’t as hard as it seems, but it’s also not easy! CONFIDENCE is the key, in your work ethic & yourself. As long as you believe in yourself & you have support behind you. Anything is possible & the sky is the limit. Running Ads has helped me tremendously, especially on IG & FB. Tiktok is also a great place also because you reach so many different people; from so many different parts of the world! But don’t let social media be your only way of advertising. Don’t be scared to get up, and go pass out business cards. You never know who you may come across. It just takes 1 day, the right moment & the right person!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey has been rocky, lol! I originally thought my way of doing things was always right & if it didn’t go my way…… my world ended & everyone was against ! But little did I know God had other plans. I started off rushing into business, just trying to find the quickest & easiest way. I was happy, my business was growing, I got my first shop & BOOM! Car accident, sat me down for about 1-2 years. I was so confused because again, I thought I was doing everything right. My plans was not apart of God’s plan. During this time frame I became closer to him, I prayed daily, did daily devotion, because I couldn’t figure out where I went wrong & after I while, I started maturing internally & mentally. One day, I randomly started teaching myself to walk again, I gradually started doing makeup again then one day, It’s like I got clearance, God said go, I stayed faithful, I also started tithing, going back to church but this time was different. I was different, I never slowed down, & I never stopped. Since then… I’ve been very busy!
