Rondell, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?

Yes, I have been a full-time business owner for the past 9 years. I saved up money and built my business while I was working a full-time job. Once, I felt I had enough saved and after I was consistently earning more money from my then, part-time business than I was at my job, I made the leap. There was slow periods but I always stayed consistent and figure out ways to market myself to land more gigs. I definitely feel like I would have sped up the process if I knew the things I know now.

Rondell, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a content creator and I also run a business providing photography and videography services to clients and businesses. I have been interested in cameras for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my mother was always purchasing new cameras and taking family photos and I found myself enjoying photography as well. The frustration of working a job and feeling stuck, birthed my photography company that later turned into a media company. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my work and I have very passionate about my creations as well. I am most proud of the fact that I get to do what I love everyday as my profession.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I always provide excellent customer service and I deliver a high quality product. Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool and that has always helped me in my market.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

I wish I was more open to networking back when I got started. Networking with other creatives have lead to many opportunities in my career.
