Alright, Ronda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I started my business in 2021 I’ve been a nurse for approximately 30 years Being a restaurant owner/ cook is a new career I was 48 going though a divorce and a major health crisis
I wished I would have started I’m my early 30 I would have more physical strength and I was so eager to learn and grasp things in my 30’s
If I would have started sooner I would have 20 year’s experience and a franchise by now
Ronda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Registered nurse and full time cook At my restaurant specialties include Creole and soul Food dish’s
I am a mother of 5 and twin grandchildren casey and Charlie
I entered this business over whelmed stress and exhaustion and pre exhaustion from the life of Covid I was also going thru a divorce and a major health scare
I am a full service restaurant that also offers liquor, entertainment and private events
I am most proud of the fact we offer homestyle cooking dishes cooked from scratch amazing drinks cozy and beautiful comforting space and our area allows us to service all cultures all races we are able to bond over a common love language which is great food
I want everyone to know it’s never to late to start a dream or new career our team goes above and beyond with service and the quality of the food
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I funded my business with the money I earned while working full time as a nurse in the middle of the COVID pandemic I lived on my daily sales and contine to do the same however I have grown and built credit my business will now qualify for loans and credit
However I continue to work full time until my business is finically secure
Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
My staffing was so critically short due to issues that come with high turn over rates in the industry due to critical staffing issues I could take the volume that I normally could take very finically crippling I had to use my personal paycheck to cover the daily operations of the restaurant
