Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Romy De Grijff. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Romy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Starting my activewear brand, Revyve Active, was born out of both passion and necessity. After becoming a mom, I realized even more how much activewear can impact confidence. So much of what I tried on wasn’t flattering and often made me feel insecure. I wanted something that not only looked amazing but also empowered women to feel confident and comfortable, no matter their stage in life.
Once I had the idea, I wasted no time. The very next day, I started researching the industry—what fabrics and designs worked best, what was missing in the market, and who my target audience was. Within a week, I was speaking with manufacturers to create the first prototypes. I made sure the designs were sleek, flattering, and functional, with details like no belly seams for extra comfort.
Over the next few months, I wore the samples to the gym, gauging both comfort and compliments. I also started building a community on Instagram, sharing sneak peeks and connecting with other women who, like me, wanted activewear that supported their lifestyle and made them feel amazing. At the same time, I tackled the logistics: setting up the website, managing inventory, and ensuring everything was ready for a successful launch.
When launch day came, it was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. But the months of preparation paid off—the response was overwhelmingly positive, and I’ve been able to grow steadily ever since. Revyve Active isn’t just about activewear; it’s about helping women feel their best, inside and out, and I’m so proud of the journey so far.

Romy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Romy, and I’m the founder of Revyve Active, an activewear brand designed to empower women to feel confident and stylish. I’ve been a model for over 10 years—and still am—which has given me a unique insight into the activewear industry. I’ve tried countless pieces for shoots and received PR packages from top brands, but I noticed a gap: there wasn’t activewear that combined flattering, functional designs with a fit that made women feel truly confident.
Revyve Active fills that gap with sleek, thoughtfully designed pieces like jumpsuits with no belly seams for added comfort and leggings that move with you, not against you. I personally test every design to ensure it’s both high-performing and flattering on all body types. Our mission is to create activewear that transitions seamlessly from workouts to everyday life while helping women feel their best.
I’m proud of the community we’ve built and excited to continue expanding our product line and partnerships. Revyve Active is more than activewear—it’s about empowering women to feel beautiful and unstoppable.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a combination of pop-ups at workout studios and building a strong community on Instagram. Pop-ups have been a fantastic way to connect directly with customers, allowing them to try on the products and experience the quality firsthand. Partnering with studios also helps us reach our ideal audience—active women who are passionate about fitness and style.
In addition, we’ve focused on collaborating with trainers and influencers who align with our brand values. These partnerships help us build trust and expand our reach organically. Instagram has been a key platform for us, not just for showcasing our products but for fostering a genuine connection with our community. Engaging content, collaborations, and consistent communication have all played a role in driving growth.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Revyve Active started as a side hustle alongside my modeling career, but it quickly became so much more. I’ve always been passionate about creating something that empowers women, and seeing the incredible response from our community has been both humbling and exciting. Month after month, we’ve experienced consistent growth, and I’m honestly surprised—in the best way possible—by how fast things are scaling. Revyve Active now officially makes more money than I do with modeling, which feels surreal!
That said, we’ve been focused on reinvesting most of our earnings right back into the business. Whether it’s expanding inventory, trying new marketing strategies, or building relationships with influencers and studios, the goal has always been to keep the momentum going while staying true to our vision.
Key milestones for us include selling out of early collections, launching new designs, and establishing collaborations with fitness trainers and influencers who love the brand. It’s been incredible to watch this side hustle turn into a thriving business, and I’m so grateful for the journey so far.
