We were lucky to catch up with Romi Imbelli recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Romi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I am committed to assisting others in exploring and developing their identity in a safe, non-judgmental environment. My goal is to help them embrace self-love, uncover their personal strength, and rediscover their unique qualities. I provide tools and practices to help them progress towards achieving their self-set goals. It is important to create a judgment-free space for individuals to deeply explore this aspect of themselves.
Romi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Through my history as a public figure, I have openly shared my own identity and sexuality over the years which has given me a platform to assist others. I feel very fortunate to help individuals struggling with their sexual identities as well as families of queer youth navigate the path to understanding, acceptance, and unconditional love. Together, we create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your identity, embrace your true authentic self, and foster stronger connections with your loved ones. Through personalized coaching and guidance, I will give you tools to navigate the complexities of sexual orientation and self identity with confidence and resilience.
Wherever you are on your journey of faith, I am willing and able to initiate discussions.
For many years I have had the privilege in assisting people to feel beautiful on the outside, and now through coaching, I am grateful to be able to guide them in discovering their inner beauty as well. Along with my cohost and best friend, I also have the opportunity to support women and mothers in their personal growth journey on our weekly Eff It Madres podcast. I host a new YouTube page called The Reel Romi. I am sitting down to have genuine, unfiltered conversations with my friends, family, and new acquaintances about topics that intrigue me.
I have spent 3 seasons on Showtime’s “The Real L Word” and now I am truly embracing authenticity. I am now a certified integrative and transformational coach.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Throughout the week, my clients and I communicate via the Voxxer app to check in, hold each other accountable, and share helpful resources such as links, podcasts, and books. I strive to maintain loyalty by being genuine and transparent, participating in the same activities as my clients like meditation, fitness, and breathwork. I also share authentic conversations on my cohosted podcast and YouTube channel about my personal journey, creating a safe space for them to join me in their own self-improvement journey.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight when I was not fully prepared for it. I starred in three seasons of The Real L Word on Showtime, where I came out as bisexual and faced harsh criticism. My character and sexuality were unfairly scrutinized and discussed. I felt like I lost control over my own identity and story. However, I took steps to regain my sense of self, including getting sober, becoming a mother, and seeking therapy. I reclaimed my voice and asserted my autonomy to determine my own identity. It is ultimately my decision, not anyone else’s.
