We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Romekia Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Romekia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

Romekia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Romekia Brown was born and raised in Crystal Springs,Mississippi. She was the middle child of 7. Romekia attended college at Hinds Community College and received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education she taught at one of the local schools in her hometown in 2008- 2009. Romekia embarked on a new career opportunity were she excelled and continued to grow. 2017 Romekia relocated to Phoenix,Arizona on a new beginning she didn’t quite understand her life nor her purpose on why she was here it was a mystery. After months of settling in Romekia start a social media called I Choose Me. Romekia platform grew by storm on IG not knowing she would be an inspiration to so many. Romekia’s brand I Choose Me LLC is a brand that uplifts, Enlighten,gives you fashionable hacks, ideas,daily affirmations and so much more.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Romekia, was not social media savvy in the beginning. She didn’t know were or how to start. However, she took the initiative to figure it out. Having no sense of direction she would just post random fashionable photos not knowing people were gravitating to her platform. Then one day it was bought to Romekia attention by one of her new followers that the photos Romekia posteed inspired her. She was similar built and she wasn’t as confident in her own skin. Romekia was amazed that photos she posted could help someone she never met. Romekia continued to post and post and more followers started to come saying,”You are so inspirational “.Romekia did not realize at the time who she was becoming. Romekia continued to post as she gave many fashionable ideas, hacks and positive affirmations to your day. People were starting to engage in comments section and give their feedback on items they wanted to purchase or wanted to know were they could purchased them from. At, that moment Romekia knew what her purpose was for her platform and that was to influence others.

Romekia’s advice to someone who is just starting is to just start. Someone is always watching.
Your intentions is going to determine the outcome.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I believe what helped me is being consistent ,being unique, creating and being confident in my own lane. Yes, there are hundreds of people doing the same thing but the doesn’t have a you.
