We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roman Perez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Roman, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The Victorious program mission means everything to me. Being able to provide mentorship and build motivation for students has been a calling all my life.
In my youth years there was a lack of care when it came to helping with mental strength. It became a duty for mines to create a program that allows students to believe in themselves and to acknowledge that they’re victorious despite the outcome in their journeys.
Roman, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Roman Perez. I grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY but was born in the Dominican Republic. I’m a current 17 year professional basketball player and basketball coach. Husband to Jennifer Perez, and father of my 2 daughters Leia and Lucia Perez.
I was motivated to push for The Victorious program which is a SEL (self empowerment learning) initiative, to help students have a better mindset to school and life.
We currently serve in the Department of education of New York, charter and private schools.
Our goal is to impact as many students in need of our program. Our mission statement is that no matter the outcome, if you try your best then you a winner regardless the result.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media presence has always been to inspire and motivate my followers.
In continuation of this throughout the years has helped my growth and engagement through the web.
Being of inspiration has been key to my success, because if i have a winners mentality and i can share that with others i honestly will always feel accomplished.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being myself has always helped my reputation. Showing the world the person i’ve been has allowed the trust and worth i bring to the table.
