We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roman Darashenka a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Roman , appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Welcome to Vanture Customs, your trusted partner in making your van life dreams a reality. Founded by Laura and Roman, passionate adventurers and van enthusiasts, our journey began in 2017 when we embarked on our van life adventure by converting a Sprinter van into our cozy home on wheels.

For the first two years of our van life journey, we roamed the country, exploring its vast landscapes and vibrant communities, all while falling head over heels for the conversion van lifestyle. During this time, we realized a growing need for top-notch conversion companies on the East Coast of the United States.

In 2020, with Roman’s extensive experience as a Master Van Builder, acquired while working with various companies in Colorado, and Laura’s creative vision, we decided to take a leap of faith and opened the doors to Vanture Customs. Our mission: to bring premium and affordable conversion vans to the North East, offering fellow adventurers a chance to experience the freedom and thrill of van life.

Since our inception, Vanture Customs has proudly crafted over 180 exceptional van conversions, each a testament to its unwavering commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. We understand that every adventurer is unique, so we go the extra mile to tailor each conversion to our client’s preferences and desires.

Roman , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

At Vanture Customs, we have transformed over 200 cargo vans into premium campers. We can build on the cargo van you already have, and we offer rental vans so you can get a taste of the van life. If you’re interested in something even more unique, we do fully custom builds. Headquartered in Philadelphia with clients around the country, we’re here to be your guide at every step of the journey.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

In our line of work, social media marketing is one of our biggest sale drivers. It look us a little time to figure out but having a consistent presence on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok has been a vital part of our company.

A lot of time and energy goes into running successful social media marketing campaigns. When you first start out your company it is hard to know how to allocate your resources. The best way we allocated our resources was setting up a small social media team to do the work we had no clue how go complete.
This small team does our videography and runs and mangers all our social media posts.

In a lot of industries today, Social media, is an important sales driver and is an important tool for clients to have a window into who you are as a company. It is important to learn your sales drivers early on and to not be afraid to allocate the funds nessary to those drivers.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Like most small businesses today, our reputation in our industry is created by what people see online. Having a good reviews on Google and Facebook has helped our clients feel secure in their purchase.
We had to drive these reviews by reminding clients after the sales process to leave us an honest review of their experience.
After every sale we follow up a few weeks later with an email letting our clients know that it was a pleasure doing business with them and thanking them for trusting us as their van builder. We use this email to let our clients know that we are available for further assistance in their “Van Life” jury and they are more than welcome to fill us in on their travels.
At the end of this email we send a brief reminder to leave a review on various platforms of their experience.
Having these real reviews from our clients with their experiences has helped us stay on our A game with customer derives and has made other clients feel more secure in their purchase.
