We were lucky to catch up with Rogers Healy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rogers , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
We’re living in the golden age of entrepreneurship—barriers to entry are lower than ever, but that also means competition is at an all-time high. Social media, e-commerce, and digital marketing have leveled the playing field, which is great… but it also means the noise is LOUD. The founders who will succeed are the ones who know how to cut through the chaos with authenticity, strategy, and an undeniable work ethic.
The real winners? They’re not just selling a product or service—they’re building a MOVEMENT. It’s not about quick wins; it’s about playing the long game.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For over 25 years, I’ve been investing, building businesses, and connecting people. My entrepreneurial journey spans everything from real estate to music memorabilia, but it truly began in 2012 with my first major investment in Mizzen+Main. That was the turning point. I realized I could use my strength in building relationships to help passionate entrepreneurs find the opportunities they needed, and from there, Morrison Seger Venture Capital Partners was born.
At Morrison Seger, we don’t just invest—we build. We’ve backed over 100 startups across industries like consumer goods and SaaS, redefining the experience in the world of finance by working with the best brands and people. We are committed to fostering innovation and collaboration while helping exceptional founders and companies achieve their growth potential. What excites me most is working with founders who are committed to their journey—those who take bold risks and stay true to their mission. That’s what it’s all about—betting on people who are willing to bet on themselves.
Above all, my life is rooted in faith and family. I love music, and it’s a huge part of my life, whether I’m spending time with my wife Abby and our daughters Henley and Collins (who are named after two of my musical heroes, Don Henley and Phil Collins) or relaxing at ‘Hotel California,’ my personal music oasis filled with one of the largest collections of music memorabilia in the world. Music fuels my passion, just like faith and family keep me grounded.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One word: relationships. Period.
Success isn’t just about what you know—it’s about WHO you know. Some of the biggest opportunities I’ve landed didn’t come from a perfectly planned strategy—they came from showing up, listening, and staying open to new possibilities. If you’re serious about growth, stop waiting for the right people to find you—go find them.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
People. REAL people.
Look, books are great. Podcasts are inspiring (especially Rogers That: Sell without Selling Out and Rogers Music Tour). But nothing—NOTHING—beats real conversations. The lessons you learn by sitting across the table from someone are priceless.
Want to grow? Talk to people who’ve done what you’re trying to do. Ask better questions. Listen more. Surround yourself with people who push you to think bigger. That’s the key to success—learning by doing and learning from those who’ve done it before.
