Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rogene Evans. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Rogene thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At Cosmo Galore we believe and understand in the power of confidence through hair and beauty. That’s why we are committed to delivering superior quality products and providing our clients a first class customer experience that adds value and enhances the beauty of every individual.
Growing up in hair salons since the age of 5, I’ve seen first hand how impactful hair is to women and I understand the emotional connection women have to their hair and how it impacts our overall confidence.
I’m still building the foundation of my business, but by talking to my clients and hearing their stories I began to understand their needs (which are similar to my own) not just as a mission for my business but as my real purpose.
Beginning as a teenager, hair was a transformative and sacred space for me as I evolved into womanhood. Embracing and experimenting with my hair was how I developed my confidence and stepped into my true essence. A lot of women also have this connection and relationship with their hair.
With over 10 years of experience in the industry, I genuinely find joy in educating and empowering women through hair.

Rogene, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My full name is Rogene Clariece Evans, I’m a Hair Expert and business owner. My company is Cosmo Galore, a premier raw hair extensions company.
My grandmother was a licensed cosmetologist and independent contractor for over 30 years. She retired once I graduated from Ohio University with my Bachelor’s. But as early as the age of 5 I can remember going to her hair salon everyday after pre-school up until college. She would have me clean the salon, wash towels, take trips for supplies, and observe. Once I got old enough to understand the trade, I started assisting her with clients until she retired. I don’t think she ever thought hair would be something I wanted to do since I had earned my degree, and I honestly didn’t either.
Naturally, I began practicing hair and beauty at home and my reputation at school and on campus as the “beauty girl” started to develop and grow. People would always ask me “who did your nails?”, “who did your hair?”, “where did you get your hair?”, “who did your makeup?”, “can you do mine?” and I began leaning into the craft more and offering services.
I’ve been sourcing hair extensions since high school but I didn’t consider it as a career choice and something to pursue until after college. Once I graduated, I realized corporate America wasn’t going to give me the life I desired, nor did I feel fulfilled. Cosmo Galore was ideated in 2019. In the beginning, I truly just wanted higher quality hair extensions than what were available on the market at the time then I realized other women had the same desire as I did.
Cosmo Galore provides authentic raw hair extensions sourced from Southern India. It’s unprocessed single-donor hair extensions, providing the highest quality, the most natural seamless look, and unmatched longevity. We also provide 100% organic and natural hair care, and hair education for women that prioritize both a polished look and natural hair care.
A lot of my clients are professionals and have an image to uphold so they want quality, service, and expertise. In this business, women might have multiple resources for multiple things regarding hair. They might buy hair from one company, purchase hair care from another company, and read a separate blog for questions about their natural hair. I provide a holistic approach to hair because I believe it’s all encompassing. My clients can purchase extensions, hair care, and gain knowledge from one resource versus multiple. Ultimately saving them time by building a personalized relationship with me.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the impact I’ve had on my clients in such a short amount of time. I’m intentional about providing quality products and service consistently to earn their trust. I don’t provide anything that doesn’t meet my high expectations and the products I provide to my clients are the same ones I use.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
To build my brand and bring awareness to my company, I create hair content on all my socials. I post tutorials, share hair care tips, and educate my audience on a lot of common hair issues and provide guidance and solutions.
I had a bad experience with a hairstyle one time and it caused me to experience hair thinning and hair loss around my perimeter, and it even gave me a bald spot. I needed a solution so I started researching natural herbs and remedies for hair loss to reverse the effects. Over a few months time the hair oil I created worked. My edges are now thicker and longer, my bald spot has grown back, and my natural hair is 14 inches long now.
I shared this story and showed my community online what I was going through and I had so many inquiries online about what I was using and doing. That’s how my organic Hair Growth Elixir was created. I created this product (for me) because it was something I needed, but then discovered it was also a solution for other women as well. I could have bought a product available at the store already, but when products are mass produced the quality of the ingredients and effectiveness decreases and again, I prioritize high-quality products that deliver.
Being transparent about my plight and sharing my story was invaluable and I was shocked at the response because I didn’t expect anything to come from it, I was being authentic. And continuing to be authentic and share my journey and accomplishments has been effective and impacted my business in a positive way. I’m still pleasantly surprised when good things happen, it’s not that I don’t believe in my business or the quality of my products, but it’s reassurance that I’m living in my purpose and what I do matters. Hair comes so naturally to me, I know God has gifted me with the abilities I have and guided me along this journey. Imagine that feeling.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth! I love word of mouth because I get to meet my clients and potential customers in real life and share the value of what I do. I’m amazing at customer service, in my previous career my customer satisfaction for the year was 93%. I naturally have a passion to help people, understand their problem, provide a solution, and go the extra mile.
I’ll be out and people will still compliment my hair, or I’ll provide a service for a friend then they’ll meet people and ask about my services too. In this industry it’s important to be a walking billboard for your business, it automatically establishes trust and invites potential clients to inquire about what I do.
