Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Roe Wallace. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Roe, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Rosie’s Vending was created in the pandemic. I saw an opportunity to make passive income and also thought of an idea of creating a youth entrepreneurial program.

I purchased vending books from THE VENDING BIZZ and Elite Global and after reading I was more inclined to start the business. I applied for a free 10 week business accelerator class upon completion, I finished the class with a business plan created and pitch deck. After the class I was approached for my first location at a new development in the city. With this contract it opened doors to other business and leadership programs. I applied and was selected for Flyer Consulting, with this group they helped me create a website , which has opened doors for more contracts. I also was selected to be a member of Leadership Dayton Class of 2022. I now have 10 machines in over 6 locations.

During the pandemic I also realized that we were putting kids to work as a Youth Program Specialist and at that time I saw an opportunity to create a youth entrepreneurial program with the vending machine. We are in the beta stage , right now I have a few students that shadow periodically during fill ups. I want to create a program where kids can make their dreams come true and not “work” just to pay a bill but to fulfill their purpose and gift to earth.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am the youngest daughter of Roy Wallace and Jamie Watt, I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My mother had a childcare for over 15 years in our home. I seen my aunts create business over the years all with the lesson of showing us we can create our own path, one job is not the answer and we have the answer to our problems. My family helped me financially launch my business.

I completed the business in 10 weeks with also the help of friends and family. My fiancé’ Keenan Woods continuously helps me and the business especially when I’m feeling overwhelmed or not aware of the answer.

I have also created business relations with bankers and new developments in the area. I just wanted to make money with a low overhead ,fast turnaround and small amount of work hours.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn that I will not have all the answers and you learn through every mistake. I also had to learn a complaint is another time to get it right for the nest person.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I have a website through WIx and I have an inquiry portal. However I use google analytics and I am the top vendor in the area when people search for a vending machine company.
