We recently connected with Rodriques Giles and have shared our conversation below.
Rodriques , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
With being a creative and model you always have to take risks. For me taking risk is the new norm. I feel with taking risk it open more doors . It shows diversity and shows me that I’m able to adapt to anything.
Rodriques , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I first started paid modeling my sophomore year in college . The recognition I would get from posting on my social media platforms let me knew I should start taking modeling and creating seriously. The consistency lead me to getting deals , and shooting with million dollar brands . My image has grown so much just by staying true to myself and staying consistent. What sets me apart from others is im myself. My thought process , and creative passion is solely me . Me being genuinely Roddie is my super power . My hard work has gotten me nominated for BEST MALE MODEL at this years Atlanta Art Awards. Im most proud of all my achievements small , big , or major . Everything that I have accomplished so far let’s me know that im doing something right and that makes me happiest .
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most reward feeling is when my audience email , and dm me about pursuing this field. Knowing that people see me in this light of success and have questions that I can answer. Make me feel amazing . Knowing that I can be that influence and start someone’s journey makes me feel like I’m doing everything right .
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My ultimate goal is to make my grandmother and family proud. As well as to just be a light everywhere I go. Knowing that any door I walk through I’ve touched you in a way of it’s okay to be yourself and love yourself. I never really set major goals because I feel like that limits your mind and drive .
