Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rodney Simpson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rodney , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a story with us from back when you were an intern or apprentice? Maybe it’s a story that illustrates an important lesson you learned or maybe it’s a just a story that makes you laugh (or cry)? Looking back at internships and apprenticeships can be interesting, because there is so much variety in people’s experiences – and often those experiences inform our own leadership style.
My life as a intern was both easy and hard. Easy as in the access it gave me to super stars and major situations. Hard because there was no physical pay and people talk to you like you’re beneath them and you’re to an extent. So being a intern humbled me and taught me how to treat people.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
at Big Boi of hiphop super group OUTKAST from there I worked with the Atlantis Music Conference in the urban division as A&R and talent scout. My next venture led me to working on a few projects with Jive Records including R Kelly grammy nominated Untiled album and a few other projects and signings. Since then I have been focused on building my company. We begin our college tour in 2007 visiting HBCU’s around the country introducing FAME or Fashion. Art. Music. Education. The students were treated to a fashion show, independent artist showcase and educational lessons from executives that work in the industry. It was fun and exciting. We are a marketing and media company complete with publication, film, art and music divisions. We currently have distribution with the XOD Network for a film projects and Universal Records for a music releases and our partnership with Magcloud allows us to distribute our FLM publication in print and digitally around the world. We look to provide our clients with exposure to their target demographic and create networking and monetary gains for them as well. I would say what sets us apart is Integrity we won’t just do something just because a checks involved. We actually genuinely love to work and build with our clients. I am most proud of the fact that I begin this journey twenty years ago and it’s grown from a marketing company to college tour to magazine to documentary films and now a channel for creatives on a network. I would like people to know that FLE LLC. really cares about their clients wants and needs and we look to assist them in creating a winning brand one step at a time. I have been building this FAME brand since 2007 and it’s continues to grow so stay tuned

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey hasn’t always been easy. I remember nights sleeping in my car and showering with cold water only in my apartment. I have rented rooms in strangers homes as well as lived with friends. The entrepreneur experience is a sacrifice if you don’t have any backing or support. I am self made with a lot of help from family and friends this has made me stronger than I ever thought I could be.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I developing my FAME aka fashion, art, music and education brand in 2007 people didn’t understand it. They couldn’t understand how fashion, art, music and education could co exist together but I did. I went from university to university showing the students snd faculty it was possible. After about five years I was forced to pivot and get a regular job again but I kept FAME going by creating a publication tilted what else but Fame Experience with my partners William Floyd and KL Allen I have since gone on to found FAME LIVE continuing to push the FAME brand I created in 2007.
