We were lucky to catch up with Rodney I Hobson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rodney I, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

What do I think it takes to be successful? First and foremost, it takes faith in God. I firmly believe that God created everything and understands how everything works better than anyone else. As stated in Romans 4:17, “speak those things as though they were.” We must speak things into existence for them to manifest. Additionally, achieving success requires having a clear goal, an excellent team to help bring that goal to fruition, and a mindset that never stops thinking big. Many times, I’ve turned to God for guidance, and He has provided. For example, God gave me the names and plots for my movies and TV series, as well as ideas for inventions. I receive everything from Him. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” This belief in God’s word shapes my perspective on life and success.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m a husband, father, minister, actor, writer, director, entrepreneur, chef, and inventor born and raised in the Motor City—Detroit, Michigan. From a young age, I discovered my talents for creating stories, cooking, and inventing. At just five years old, I could captivate people with my storytelling, and by seven, I could fix almost anything electronic. I’ve always loved entertaining and drew inspiration from actors like Martin Lawrence, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Foxx, whose impersonations and character work fueled my passion for acting and creativity.

At 28, I began receiving movie titles and plots from God, and by 32, I was given the name for my production company, catering business, and ministry—Faithful Handz. Faithful Handz Productions is dedicated to the art of storytelling, creating films, series, and content that captivate, inspire, and transform audiences. Our mission is to produce thought-provoking and entertaining content, whether it’s a heartwarming drama or an action-packed adventure. We stay at the forefront of industry trends and innovation, utilizing cutting-edge technology to exceed viewer expectations.

Faithful Handz Catering focuses on providing healthy, organic, farm-raised, and homegrown food options to promote long-term health and deter unhealthy eating habits. Our aim is to nourish bodies with the right foods for a longer, healthier life.

Faithful Handz International Christian Ministry is committed to almsgiving, supporting missionaries worldwide, and offering training for individuals seeking transformation through Christian principles, values, and lifestyles. We aim to expand our reach through radio, television, and the internet, spreading our ministry globally.

What sets me apart is my diverse skill set and unwavering commitment to my passions. I’m most proud of the impact Faithful Handz has had on people’s lives, whether through our films, healthy food options, or ministry work. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my work is driven by a desire to entertain, inspire, and promote positive change in the world.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Growing up, I had many friends, but my one male best friend was my cousin. We did everything together, including getting into trouble. We dreamed together, made plans together, and even cried together. He wasn’t just my cousin; he was my brother. Twenty years ago, my life was shattered when I lost him to gun violence. In the aftermath of this devastating loss, I found solace and inspiration in my faith. This drove me to fulfill our shared dream of using our talents to serve our community and beyond through entertainment, food, and inventions that aim to change the world for the better. Today, I’m driven by a burning desire to share stories that resonate deeply with audiences, touching hearts and inspiring change.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

There are quite a few books that had a major impact on me, my thinking, and the way I live. The first book is The Bible. If it wasn’t for God, I wouldn’t be here today. There have been plenty of times I was supposed to be killed, and God always protected me. The Bible is the first and final authority in my life, and I stand on every word of it.

The second book is Rich Dad, Poor Dad. This book is amazing and teaches you about the difference between being employed, self-employed, running a big business, and being an investor. This book is a great read, and I highly recommend it.

The third book is The Magic of Thinking Big. This book teaches you how to get rid of small thinking and do everything big. I’m a big dreamer, and this book resonates with me beyond words.
