Rodney , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
If I could do this all over again, I would started my journey of being a business owner much sooner. I have no regrets because I have a good career in banking but the excitement that I feel being my own boss is something special. The experience that I’ve gain working in Corporate America working with a team to achieve a common goal has definitely helped me start my own journey. I know what it is to always put the customer first.

As the owner of RKB Notary & Live Scan Fingerprint , my focus is to make sure my clients have the best experience. I have many years of experience interacting with all types of people and treating everyone with respect.
I specialize in mobile notary and live scan fingerprinting services, which means I go to my customers, at their convenience. Whether it’s in their home, office or a public location.
What make me different is that my doors don’t close at 5pm, I make sure I’m there for my clientele.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Marketing my business on different internet platforms such as LinkedIn, Yelp and Google.
I also placed a magnet on my cars advertising my business, almost like a mobile billboard.
I’ve come to the realization that you can’t be shy when trying to get your name out there as a small business owner.

I understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail when it comes to notarizing your documents. I pride myself on being thoughtful and professional.
But the most important thing in business, is to do what you say you are going to do. Be accountable.
