We were lucky to catch up with Rodesca recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rodesca , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

The name ‘Rodesca’ originated by taking the beginning part of both of my last names and combining them together. In a way it seemed symbolic- putting together two things to create one.

Rodesca , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I do what I do haha

I’m known for Photography & running Rodesca Photography, a business that offers photo services such as but not limited to: Concerts, Portraits, Family Photos, Events, Real Estate, Media packages, etc. Internationally published since ’19 and have been independently documenting artists up and down the east coast from New York all the way down to North Carolina and soon to a show near you!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me the most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is seeing the look on my clients face when an idea is brought to life or seeing the happiness on their face knowing there’s a moment of them doing what they love captured forever.

Do you have any stories of times when you almost missed payroll or any other near death experiences for your business?

NDM: OK… so, story time;

A few years ago I was with a friend, she asked if I wanted to join her to go watch her bf’s band play. This was a genre of music I wasn’t familiar with but interested and with my camera glued to my hand I agreed to go. The moment came to take a photo, knowing the surroundings I checked to make sure all was clear, once I had checked… up goes my camera… and as soon as I recall lifting it within the next milliseconds I had found myself sitting on my @ss – blood covering my face like a scene out of Carrie.
Unknowingly to me the flash (being attached to the camera) had been kicked into my face- causing me to get 12 stitches and a major headache…
Due to my equipment being damaged and well, myself being damaged, the whole company went down for a few weeks but came back better than ever & now back at it ;)
