We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roderick Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Roderick, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

I was working at at plant and I use to give some co-workers shoulder massages with their permission. Two of my friends said I should become a massage therapist. Eventually after thinking about it I attended NIT in Southfield Mi I completed the program in six months and after a couple of weeks I had a feeling that I found my purpose and not just another job.

I graduated valedictorian of my massage therapy program and I have been doing massages for 17 years and don’t regret the decision to go to school for massage therapy.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?

I have been providing professional massage for over 17 years after graduating from Everest as valedictorian of my massage class. I started my own business right after school to offer an array of services to clients in their homes or my personal office.

I have been taking some courses to be able to add new services to our company like ice body sculpting, wood therapy, detox body wraps, ear Coning , sauna blanket treatments and muscle scrapping .

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

You have to be willing to still learn everyday and surround yourself with people that you can grow with. Also add new services to your business and learn not to take things to personal.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Always staying professional to all my clients and dressing professional and being a people person. Providing professional and amazing services to each and every client.
