We recently connected with Rocky Rose and have shared our conversation below.
Rocky Rose, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I met Paul Trudeau in 2016, playing keys for Billy Idol. As a keyboardist myself, I’m a big fan of Idol’s music and of course, the live keys player behind the shows, Paul himself. We’ve stayed in touch over the years and recently I got a phone call from Paul saying that he had his own original project that he actually played guitar and sang for – asking me to come play keyboards (for my favorite keyboard player!) and I’ve had so much fun learning his music, lyrics and harmonies! Watch out for more live shows in Los Angeles from the Paul Trudeau Band! (www.paultrudeaumusic.com)
Paul also introduced and recommended me for a recent live show with Chevy Metal (www.facebook.com/chevymetalrocks) at the Agoura Hills Canyon Club for a Rock N Roll Rescue fundraiser benefit (www.rocknrollrescuedogs.org) where I got to play alongside Brent Woods, Wiley Hodgden, Shane Hawkins, Kenny Aronoff, and Elliot Easton. Walking in to meet them all for the first time in person felt like a welcoming family reunion, and the entire event was one firey rock show I was honored to be a part of.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a professional multi-instrumentalist musician and performer as a keyboardist, vocalist, and saxophonist under my stage name and company, Rocky Rose Music, Inc.
I’m also a film composer, songwriter, and professor. And simply because that all doesn’t seem like enough (ha) I also own and operate my own Etsy store, Rocky Rose Art, where my newest venture is specializing in wine cork, wood and resin serving trays.
In my free time you can find me hanging upside down spinning silks as an aerialist!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative artist is collaborating with other artists – whether that be to help fulfill their own visions, to support their original music on stage from my keyboards, or simply to be a fresh source of friendship where we can inspire each other from our own experiences.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Music can take you places – as a listener, of course – but as a touring musician, I’ve been able to see parts of the world I may not have traveled to on my own. My goal is to never stop creating, never stop playing, and never lose sight of the fact that music itself has so many aspects to it in so many branches of the entertainment industry that I can’t ever imagine myself living a life not supported by music in some way. Music is a gift to me, and I want to share my gift with the world.
