Rocklyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?

First thing comes to mind is not long after I started a new customer booked me and when I got there she began telling me how she needs a good thorough detail. Like I tell mostly everybody I said “I gotchu”, I took care of her, she was satisfied when I was done then she said she wanted to help me further my business and asked if it was anything I needed. I kept saying “nah I’m good, nah I’m good”, but she continued and said she wanna help and whatever I need it can be a barter. I said ok cool so I agreed to getting a da (dual action) polisher and leaf blower with a short stubby nozzle. I sat there with her at the computer and she ordered everything right there for me. I agreed to paint correct her whole vehicle, add ceramic, and also shampoo her seats in return. I never did paint correction at all so I practiced on my own vehicle first and it came out amazing and she seen the results so I came back and did hers. Not only was she extremely pleased, but I wow’d myself lol. Her vehicle looked brand new when I was done. She blessed me doing that and it was my first paint correction. She gave me a lot of encouragement and told me my brand would continue to grow and I better be ready and she wasn’t lying. Her name is Ms. Williams I will never forget her blessings and investing in me. The black Nissan Pathfinder is hers in the pics posted below.

Rocklyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’ve always had a passion for cars and cleaning them since I was young. The way I began mobile detailing is times got hard and my wife had to get a second job due to me becoming disabled sometime ago having to resign from my job and it was taking a toll on her and it didn’t sit right with me. Even though I know she was doing what she had to do, I was trying to figure out what work can I handle to help. I brought the essential things starting off, 2 buckets, wash mitt, and pressure washer. I thought it would just be a every now and then type of thing to keep food in the house and provide money for whatever’s needed, but that wasn’t the case. It took off from the beginning and grew and it was all during covid.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

When I first started I didn’t have much at all matter fact I used customers water and power when I first started. I did have in my description when booking that I would need to use water and power at the residence. Surprisingly nobody ever had a problem with that, not one person. As time went on and my clientele grew I brought more supplies and more things for different situations to get done. Then I was also able to get a water tank and applied for a loan to buy a generator. If its something you feel strong about getting into you don’t need all the fancy things upfront to start, you can worry about those things later down the road as things come along. Having a good work ethic in what you do it will speak for itself and the right people will see it.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

Me giving incentives is one way. With all new customers, once they leave me a Google review I’ll I apply a $10 discount on their next detail or any other service scheduled. As you continue to book details you will receive a free exterior wash on your #7th. I also recently just added a new variety of air fresheners to choose from when you schedule. I have something for ladies, fellas, and also my original scent everyone loves and they all smell amazing.
