We were lucky to catch up with Rocío Romero García recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rocío, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
I have always liked painting, When I was little, in front of my house they exhibited the paintings selected from a painting contest. I visited it every day, it was my first contact with art, from that moment I knew I wanted to Paint
Rocío, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville and at the Complutense University of Madrid, specialising in Painting. I express myself through figurative painting. I have several series of work, still lifes, landscapes, human figures. I paint what I see and what I have experienced. In my still lifes I try to elevate the everyday objects of the plane to order the extraordinary. In the case of my landscapes I like to start the work in the natural space and finish it in the studio, they are lived landscapes. I like to paint people in their environment, being part of and interacting with the moment and space.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love to paint and express myself through my painting.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I prefer the original Work When I paint a picture, it’s not just the image that’s important, the texture, the size, the light and being able to touch it is essential in my opinion
