Hi Rochelle , thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?

Ive been Dragonfly Company online since early 2008 as far as a working business and website.
When I finally had some extra cash I copyrighted my logo which I designed myself.
A couple years later I finally was ready to trademark my name because I’m getting my products on Amazon .
Found out someone copied my business and trademarked my name. I was devastated.
It took me awhile but I came up with something just as good very excited to start selling on Amazon.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Bored at home with my 2nd baby I was watching Martha Steward on Tv and she was making soap. I thought that was amazing because she explained how must soap is made with pig fat. I dont eat pork at all and I definitely dont want it on my skin. so I started making soap, then lotion and later candles.
Most proud of the fact that I’ve been doing this for so long and I’m still in business and that everything I make is all natural and also that I have branched out to cosmetics and make- up.
I want new/potential customers to know I still make almost everything in my home, packaging and local deliveries so my products are better than any corporate lotions or soaps.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

I do make all my own products in my house by hand but I felt like it was time to expand.
So finding the right manufacturer that would make everything to my specifications is difficult .
I call or contact companies and find out if they can make what I need order samples with my design and logo.
Sometimes I will find a company that only makes one or two things that I like and then I have to use a different company for different products.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Social media is absolutely everything for my business and all these years I have never boosted posts or paid for advertising and just recently I have started to because I need to expand my customer base and so far it has been working perfect.y.
Also social media is in itself a great side hustle. Such as having multiple streams of income being an Amazison Influencer, Content creator on Tik Tok and having a YouTube page .
