We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rochelle Alleyne. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rochelle below.
Rochelle, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want my legacy to be one of storytelling — of using my voice and gifts to amplify those who might not otherwise be heard. I hope to be remembered as someone who spoke truth to power, helped solve problems, and held the powerful accountable. More than that, I want people to say I used my talents to create meaningful change in the world.
I also hope my legacy reflects kindness, integrity, teaching, and deep human connection. At the heart of it all, I want to leave behind a reminder that where you start in life doesn’t have to define where you finish — that transformation is possible, and your story can become a catalyst for others.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an investigative reporter based in Columbus, Ohio, with over a decade of experience in journalism. This isn’t just a job for me — it’s a lifelong calling. I’ve dreamed of being a reporter since I was 10 years old, and over the years, that dream has taken me across the country and into the heart of many communities.
In my current role, I focus on holding government entities and public officials accountable, protecting the viewer’s pockets, and exposing injustices at both local and state levels. I believe deeply in the power of journalism to inform, empower, and create real change.
What sets me apart is my commitment to truth, empathy, and impact. I don’t just report the news — I listen, dig deep, and follow stories until the full picture emerges. I’m proud of the trust I’ve built with viewers and sources alike, and the tangible results that have come from my reporting.
Ultimately, I want people to know that I care. I care about justice, transparency, and giving a voice to those who’ve been overlooked or silenced. That’s the foundation of my work, and the heart of the brand I’ve built.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation has been built on a consistent commitment to integrity, accountability, and follow-through. I take my responsibility to the public seriously, and I work hard to ensure that my reporting is accurate, fair, and impactful.
I also prioritize meeting people where they are — listening closely, honoring their lived experiences, and taking their concerns seriously. That human connection is at the heart of my work. When people know they’re being heard and understood, it builds trust — and trust is everything in this field.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
While my job is undeniably serious, it also offers a tremendous amount of creativity and variety. Every day brings something new — no two days, no two stories, are ever the same. That unpredictability keeps me engaged and constantly learning.
What I find most rewarding is having a front-row seat to history as it unfolds, and knowing I have a platform to shine a light on important issues. Being able to use my creativity and voice to drive real change makes this career deeply fulfilling.
