Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rocco Bova. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rocco, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I was inspired to launch My Humble House when I turned 50. Some people call it mid life crisis, I call it mid life re-birth.
As a passionate hotelier, I begun to see a shift in the hsopitality industry.
Everything was becoming so standardized, cookie cutting, There was really nothing reminiscing me of what hospitality was all about. From the personalized service to the true hosting of guests.
I then begun working on My Humble House concept and business plan and after 6 months of work I shared the draft to over 200 people from the industry to get feedback.
Everyone was so excited to read it and I received so much posite feedback that I continued to work on it until perfect and with the most up to date information and trends.
Now, My Humble House has gone one more step forward. We have officially announced the acquisition of 50 hecartes of prime land in Mexico’s Yucatan state and begun the second round of investments.

Rocco, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
IItalian of origin but a true citizen of the world. I have worked and lived in 11 countries.
I believe to have a natural ability to influence people positively and build long lasting relationships. I enjoy working around the jet –set, the A listers, the luxury lifestyle and cater for the most discerning and demanding clientele.
Some of my trengths include a high level of integrity, resilience, able to inspire, coach and develop staff from various professional and ethnic backgrounds creating a positive and winning working environment that is able to deliver sustainable results.
I am a passionate and energetic entrepreneur with a remarkable career of over 25 years. Have worked in some of the finest, world class properties in amazing destinations spanning five continents.
My phenomenal tenacity and ambition has shaped my life and behavior and helped my insatiable desire to learn and travel the world, living and adapting even to the most complex and challenging cultures.
My educational journey began in London at the Westminster College, followed in Singapore at Cornell University and continues through workshops, readings and the internet on topics such as Human Behavior, Neuro Marketing, NLP, Business Modelling and Hospitality Trends.
I am proud to say that I have an unquestionable integrity. One of my objectives is to coach and inspire teams to what the world of hospitality offers. I enjoy interacting and socializing with people at all levels, and have a natural ability to influence and engage others making everyone feel welcome.
I managed to grow many thousands of contacts in the Hospitality, Travel, Press and PR industries plus hundreds of high net-worth personal connections to ensure a quick business turnaround or a re-branding.
Since 2020 I begun working as consultant for a number of hospitality projects in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia and Dominican Republic. I help developers and operators from branding to architecture & design, to concept development, service standards, staff recruitment and training, sales and marketing strategy, etc.
Recently I joined Horwath HTL as Managing Consultant helping them grow its business in Mexico and the LATAM region.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I believe in social marketing and personal branding.
But in order to do this and build a successful personal brand, one first needs to build a very solid reputation, an unquestionable integrity and from there begin the road to build a personal brand.
Being relevant, portraying the highest level of integrity, walk the talk (meaning to be truly who you say you are), will allow to open new doors, network with the relevant people and continue towards the direction set.
I, for example, invest 3-4 hours daily on Linkedin to build my B2B network and maintain solid relationships which I connected over the past 20 years.
Linkedin, just like other social medias, can be very powerful if properly used.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I am a believer that everything happens for a reason and that your life is already set. We are only catalists and can channel the energy in the right (or worng directions) depending on our life’s choices.
About 6 months ago, I concidentally met with Johan from Holland. We exchanged mobile phones because he was interested in moving to Mexico and eventually invest here.
Well, a few calls and eventually an in person meeting, we have decided to begin a collaboration in building something in Mexico.
While it is not yeat formalized, I have a strong believe that this can be the beginning of something BIG, and if not, at least a BIG friendship.
One must never be scared of trusting first. Only by doing this, opportunities open up and energy channels in the right direction.
Listening to your gut feelings to me is still the best way to do business. Humans have instincts and more often than not they are infallible.
