We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robynne Denise a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Robynne thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Always be honest, transparent and real with your clients.
Robynne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It all happened on a cruise. After receiving a treatment at the Spa on a cruise, I decided to come home and change my life. It was that very moment that I knew that I wanted to be an Esthetician. I quickly enrolled in Esthetics school and thats where my love for waxing began.
After graduation, I entered the world of Spa by becoming a Spa Manager at a very well known Fitness center in Chicago. After years of managing, I decided to become my own boss.
12 years later, I own and operate a cute little wax suite in downtown Chicago. I have a host of clients with whom I love and I would not trade my life for anything. I wake up every morning, enjoying what I do.
I am most proud of being able to provide a quality lifestyle for my family.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
In order to succeed in this industry you must have passion. If you are just doing this for money it will not work. Passion will keep you motivated.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have been in this industry for over 10 years. The key to building a good reputation is to be transparent and honest. Integrity also plays a major role. Your clients should be able to trust you.
