We recently connected with Robyne Henry and have shared our conversation below.
Robyne , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I never knew I had the solution until I was faced with the problem. Having experienced many different traumas in life and being a go-getter, I realized how much of an issue trauma can be in the lives of many women. I witnessed firsthand with myself the effects of trauma and how stagnating it can be and how it clogs the pipeline of the soul for many women. Upon realizing this, I self-published my first book, The Caged Bird Finally Sings, detailing my fight to freedom from an abusive relationship, my faith in God to heal an incurable STD and being sexually assaulted by a family member.
The weight of the trauma was heavy, but I desperately wanted Triumph. Through the intentional work of healing and dealing, I saw just how obtainable Triumph and healing from trauma really is and how it can be used as a source of strength, not a weakness. From there, I desperately wanted to help women go from trauma to Triumph using faith and practical solutions.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My mission is to help women heal the whole woman to become a whole woman. I want to help women develop their toolbox and tackle building a Triumphant life for themselves as they go back to the original vision they had before the trauma. My passion for helping women is rooted in life. I desire to help women see that there is a life after trauma and that they can get back to their visions and goals. I am really big on community and support and in the Triumph Crew, nobody is alone! So some services offered to my T.C. are courses dedicated to developing and nurturing your goals, some of my latest self-published books, free e-resources, and I will soon be offering group and one-on-one mentorship this year!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A major lesson I had to unlearn is that healing happens quickly and that it’s linear. As a survivor, I really struggled with understanding this–I figure that the healing would begin immediately after the event and that couldn’t be far from the truth. Everyone’s process is completely unique to the individual, your story cannot be my story. Also, having to accept that the healing process was not linear was a hard pill to swallow as well. I wanted all the pain, shame, flashback and triggers from the assault to go away in an instant–seconds even. However, I realized strength is gained and resilience is built when you go through the journey instead of running from it.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Authencity is still in style and well-desired. In a world where it is easy to place a filter on a photo/video or look like you’re living your “best” life, people can read straight through the lies. When I began to take my business very seriously on social media, I thought I had to be this super serious person and dress nicely in every video. Don’t get me wrong, presentation is everything, but I lacked the connection because I wasn’t being my complete self with my audience.
When I noticed this, I immediately began to inch into being myself on social media. It was scary and anxiety-provoking because you have no idea what people will say or think. Fortunately enough for you, it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks except your audience. When you show up as yourself, you increase engagement and revenue because not only do people connect with the why of your business, they connect with the personality behind it as well. So, don’t be afraid to show your personality within your brand.
