Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Robyn Gornicki-Davis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Robyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
I became a divorce paralegal in 1997. When I went to paralegal school, on the application under “what kind of law to you not want to practice” I answered “family law.” But, that was my first paralegal position and I never changed. I like helping people. I never imagined I would retire from the legal part of the divorce practice and become The Doable Divorce Coach but here I am! I have coached thousands of women and men through the divorce process during my career and knew I needed to do more. So, I became a certified life coach learning even more skills and tools to help women navigate one of the most difficult times of their lives. Looking back, I know I landed exactly where I was supposed to be.

Robyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a legal professions with 26 years of experience in family law, primarily divorce, I know the ins and outs of the process. I know what women can expect from their attorneys and I can help women navigate their thoughts and expectations throughout the divorce process so that they become the best version of themselves during one of the most difficult challenges of their lives. I work with women over the course of 12 weeks. We meet via zoom and Voxer. We look at their individual situation and circumstances and set goals and processes so that when the divorce is final, they are ready for what is next in their lives.
What I do best: I am realistic, supportive and honest. I do not sugarcoat the divorce process. It is not easy. But it is DOABLE.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I was born and raised in Davison, Michigan. In 1997, at 27 years old about to really do great in my career, I was in was a crazy/ toxic relationship. My parents had decided to move to Tennessee for my Dad to work at Saturn. I quit my job on the brink of a promotion and moved with them. I knew no one in Nashville except my parents. But I knew I had to make a break from the toxic relationship that I was in. I had to take care of me. So I moved. I started over. I got a new job. I went back to school. I made new friends. It was quite possibly the scariest thing I have ever done until now. I have now quit my 26 year career as a divorce paralegal to start my own businesses.
