We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robyn Elder a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Robyn , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We believe kindness is contagious and so we’d love for you to share with us and our audience about the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?

The kindness thing someone has ever did for me…a client told me that i made them feel beautiful again. I specialize in makeup artistry and this job can be very fulfilling. The feeling you get when someone tell you “i feel great and i look amazing” is something that i cherish, so much! The reason it matters so much to me because becoming a makeup artist has been a lifelong passion of mines. Since i was 16 i knew i wanted to become a makeup artist, seeing the different shades, colors, and hues excites me! I love that i get to enhance the beauty of someone! I really enjoy the different clientele and i love to see them come back.

Okay, yes sure. My name is Robyn! I am a licensed esthetician and i specialize in makeup artistry. I have my own cosmetic brand called Renays Blush Cosmetics.

Getting into the business I’m in took a lot of hard work! The things they don’t tell you is, if you want to get where you are going you need to fight for yourself every step of the way! I set apart from everyone else because i choose to stay different, doing my own thing my own way. Some people will like it & some people won’t.

The most thing I’m proud of is not giving up on myself when it comes to this business! It takes a lot of hard work & dedication to build clientele and one thing i can say is the work still has to be done!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Social Media. It has been the key tool for the success of my business! You can create and strategize the content you come up with. If social media wasn’t popular, i would definitely use word of mouth. Although that still is another key factor. But most definitely social media

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Yes, i built my audience by using hashtags! Hashtags is a very excellent way of boosting your business. We all have different methods of excelling but if you use the key hashtags of what you’re posting at the moment, the more likes and comments you’ll get from those key hashtags.
