We recently connected with Robine Rene’ and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Robine, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came up with the name of my company 6 months after I decided I would enter the fashion/beauty industry. It was originally going to be named after me, but it just didn’t do it for me. Everyday for about 6 months I would say “Come on God give me a name, I know you can.” So I searched what “God Can” meant in different languages. That’s how I got the name Dio Puo, it means God Can in Italian.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Dio Puo is a fashion house that curates chic, classic, women statement pieces, such as handbags, beauty products, and womens shoes.
I am most proud of staying patient through the process of building. Finding your ideal customer, creating your niche, and finding your target audience isn’t easy. There will be trial and error, but as long as I stay consistent, disciplined, and focused on my end goal I will continue to succeed.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe having excellent customer service has helped build our reputation along with word of mouth. We take pride in providing our customers with an experience. We go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction is our number 1 priority.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to learn is starting over isn’t “failure”. We’ve experienced growing pains. Learning about overseas shipping, language barriers with our manufacturers, while growing. It caused me to start over, but this time with experience. So now we can apply everything we’ve learned and reach the goals we’ve set out to reach.
