We were lucky to catch up with Robin Hill recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Robin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
The most important lesson I have learned from working for others is you’re replaceable. I feel owning my own business. I’m in control. There will always be bumps and bruises. At least I know my worth. With this knowledge I started The Embroidery Muse LLC., where we go beyond the realm of traditional embroidery.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Here at Embroidery Muse LLC., we go beyond the realm of traditional embroidery to create exquisite works of art. Our passion lies in meticulously crafting many custom products, ranging from custom door hangers, personalized T-shirts to custom engravings on woodwork. While Custom Printing remains our flagship offering along with many other products. I’ve taken many different paths in my life, my latest path was a huge one. After 10.5 years with GCPS, I retired. On October 2023 I said sayonara to Gwinnett County Public Schools to pursue my dream.
I’m proud to introduce our newest Business venture, Embroidery Muse LLC established in January, 2024. With over five years of experience in the industry, I have honed my skills in the art of handiwork, fueled by boundless imagination. As I pour my heart and soul into every creation, I take immense pride in my work.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part about being an embroiderer is creating one of a kind art and wowing people with my creativity.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The resources that have significantly impacted my management and entrepreneurship is YouTube, yes, you heard right. YouTube will teach and make you want to create things you never thought you could do. Anything you want to do someone has already done it and posting it on YouTube.
