We were lucky to catch up with Robin Compton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Robin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
We started just about a year ago and I sometimes think about where we would be had we done it a decade ago but I always remember that God’s timing is perfect. The changes we’ve made and how we’ve grown in the last ten years has made all of this possible. I’ve learned a ton from the owners of the previous companies that I’ve worked for but more than that, my temperament has changed. I’m more equipped now to deal with the stressors and issues when they arise. I also know that when I’m hearing from the Lord, he directs our steps

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I haven’t been in the industry all that long really. I’m in my fifth year now. A couple years in sales and then a couple more in sales management, leading, teaching, training, and mentoring young men and women in this business. I ventured out on my own because I wanted to be the decision maker when it comes to philosophy, core values, culture, and direction. I have no interest in dominating or owning the market. We simply want to provide exceptional quality and customer experience to everyone we get to interact with. I’ve seen it personally in a couple of different companies, that when you chase the goal and believe that bigger is better, it’s really easy to lose sight of the little things that got you there in the first place. Taking care of employees and customers to the smallest detail can pretty easily get lost if your priority is growth and not people.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing teams has to be my favorite part in business. Bringing people together to work toward a common goal. Fostering a culture of excellence starts with everyone buying in to the vision. I once heard it said that our purpose in life is to master our God given gifts and then to fulfill that purpose you give those gifts away. To me that means passing along and teaching others what you’ve learned. Sharing in each others successes and failures and driving everyone to be better than they were yesterday

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
For me, the best source of new clients has been my existing clients. I’ve worked almost exclusively on referral business since I opened my doors and it’s been quite a blessing to do so. As I said earlier, I am hyper focused on customer experience and I believe that’s what drives the referrals through the door. Our customers recognize the quality in everything we do and want their friends and family to have the same experience
