We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robin Ashley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Robin , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you ever experienced a times when your entire field felt like it was taking a U-Turn?

The aesthetic industry is ever evolving. Now more than ever, its an ebb and flow of trendy treatments andTikTok viral DIY skincare hacks. My advice is to be in the know, remain educated in the newest breakthroughs in the industry. Continued education is PARAMOUNT, but don’t chase every trend. Enhance, update your offerings, but create a menu that’s authentic to you and your expertise. A jack of all trades is a master of none. Find your niche and master it.

When your deepest passion is also your profession, it is truly such a gift.

This is what Aesthetics is for me, and I’m grateful to have 15 amazing years in this industry, specializing in facial rejuvenation and corrective treatments, while working alongside Industry Leaders and Top Plastic Surgeons. But my approach to skincare started to evolve, as I evolved as a woman.
My life journey has taken me down three very beautiful paths. Pillars, I believe, that have supported my soul’s purpose, so aside from being a Facialist, my heart has also led me to become a Reiki Master and Certified Yoga Instructor. My intention is to intricately weave these philosophies, teaching, and practices into my treatments. I strive not only to create physical beauty but to restore wholeness and balance within the mind, body and spirit, high vibrational experiences. Traditionally, in a spa setting, you have one or the other. Medical Spa, or Holistic. I think the magic is in the marriage of the two.

With SkinrxDallas, I created what I craved. Results driven, luxury skincare.

My collection of bespoke treatments seamlessly integrated modern science, luxury and a hint of zen. My mission is to influence skin health and evoke an atmosphere of self-love. I specialize in non-invasive beauty treatments to enhance skin health on a cellular level. Beauty has depth. It’s not a look, but a feeling.I don’t just want to scratch the surface. I want to create a place of alchemy. A sacred space for transformation, healing or at the very least…. rest. because we all deserve it. Self-care creates self-love. Within my treatments, science and nature, therapy and mystery, beauty and peace are intertwined, offering an experience as luxurious as it is therapeutic and as magical as it is real.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Within this past year I have: Opened a small business amid a global pandemic. Almost shattered my spirit
I have experienced that heartbreak. You know, the one that happens once in a lifetime soul crushing, steals the breath out of your chest type of heartbreak. Almost shattered my soul.
For months, endured the most physical pain I have ever experienced. that left me calling my brother at 2 AM on a Tuesday night telling him I don’t want live anymore because it physically hurts too bad. Almost shattered my willpower.
An emergency spine surgery that I was told without it, could have left me paralyzed. Almost shattered my faith.
And at 2 am, on the morning of my 1 year in Dallas, 6 day into recovery from my surgery, a pipe bust; and flooded my apartments within 30 min; during one of the coldest nights Dallas has seen.

Had I known these things were going to unfold before I made the decision to move here I would’ve never made that decision.

But here is the beauty of it all…

that version of me would have thought
“you’re about to experience the worst year of your life.” But this version of me says “fuck yes Queen, you just conquered the hardest year of your life. I am so damn proud of you.”Perspective.
You cannot be a both a victim and a hero in your story. I choose the later.
I truly believe this past year was my year of the Phoenix. Watch me rise from the ashes.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

For me, it was creating a niche within the market. I noticed facial massage was highly undervalued in the industry, yet essential when treating skin. I invested in the highest level of trainings with the worlds top experts, and became a maestro of massage myself specializing in several techniques that set myself apart from the rest.
Usually in Aesthetics, you have either medical spa with more clinical treatments. or Holistic Day spas the focus more on the experience than the results of a treatment. The magic is in the marriage of the two. That’s what I set out to create.
You are your greatest investment and asset of the business. Elevating your knowledge constantly is paramount in your success.
