We were lucky to catch up with Roberto Perez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Roberto thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
It is always important to be grateful to the places that see you come up and that also gave you the formation to what you may have now become in your present business career, I for example had a very solid and contemporary foundation for the title insurance business that I am grateful to have been around a set of very diligent and organized ladies in the Escrow offices that I was employed at when beginning my career. This help me to be very clear on how the set up aspect of the business was supposed to be set up.

Roberto, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am well now into 23 years of title insurance experience, in the Real Estate world, and what got me into this business was the one time that my grand father told me that owning Real Estate is the best thing one can do, and it stuck to me as a child. When growing up I understood what title and escrow meant, I started as a summer job during my High School year and when I graduated I decided to go work there full time and they in fact took me in and gave me a full time job. I sat as a receptionist for a year or so, then moved to escrow assistant for two years and one chance I got to go in I went and took it, Escrow Officer since 2007/ Notary since 2002.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The mind set of an employee is very different from an Employer mindset or an Entrepreneur mind set –
the time that I decided to leave the corp. world- was definitively hard to adjust my mind to forget about the W2 paycheck every 15 days-
It was time to go hunt it down!!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best new source of clients is Lending companies and Real Estate brokerage firms.
