– How you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft:
I’m a visual storyteller originally from Monterrey, Mexico, eager to unfold my journey as a photographer. From the outset, my aspiration has been to connect deeply with others, driven by a desire to comprehend the intricacies of human emotion and behavior. This pursuit began with my mother, whose intensity and sensitivity left me both perplexed and intrigued. Rather than shying away, I embarked on a quest to grasp her perspective, recognizing the importance of understanding those different from myself in fulfilling my life’s purpose.
The pivotal moment came when I discovered photography, a medium that proved transformative in my exploration of cultural diversity. With camera in hand, I embarked on a voyage through unfamiliar territories and faces, delving into the nuanced connections that bind us all. My earliest memories are intertwined with my father and his camera, igniting a passion for photography that would shape my life’s trajectory. His frequent travels during my formative years instilled in me a sense of wanderlust and curiosity for diverse cultures, laying the foundation for my artistic pursuits.
In my adolescence, my father gifted me a manual 35mm Rollei, marking the inception of my photographic journey. Armed with rudimentary technical knowledge, I began capturing the world around me, captivated by the interplay of light, shadow, and depth. The turning point arrived in 1994 when I embarked on a two-year study abroad program, immersing myself in the rich tapestry of languages, art history, and visual arts across England and Italy. It was in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, where my passion for photography truly flourished. Surrounded by timeless masterpieces, I marveled at the ingenuity of the Renaissance masters and their ability to create enduring works of art with limited technological resources.
Upon returning to my hometown to pursue university studies, my fervor for photography continued to blossom. Determined to refine my craft, I sought mentorship from Juan Rodrigo Llaguno, a renowned portraiture photographer in Monterrey. Under his guidance, I honed my technical skills and developed a deeper understanding of the artistic process. During my university years, I seized every opportunity to explore different countries, fueling my passion for photography and cultural exploration.
In 2000, I embarked on a new chapter in Paris, pursuing a second degree in Fine Art/Photography at Parsons School of Design. Immersed in the vibrant artistic community of the city, I found inspiration at every turn, from the storied halls of the Louvre to the bustling streets of Le Marais. Photography ceased to be merely a means of expression; it became a conduit for personal growth and self-discovery.
Under the guidance of Gerda Schutte and Hally Pancer, my esteemed German and French/Isaerli teachers and mentors, I delved into the rigorous demands of black and white analog photography. Her unwavering honesty and keen insight pushed me to strive for excellence, even in the face of criticism. Through their mentorship, I learned to believe in myself and embrace the journey of artistic expression with unwavering dedication.
During my time in Paris, I had the privilege of documenting the students of a Circus School – Centre National du Cirque du Châlons-en-Champagne, capturing the poetry and grace of their performances. This experience reaffirmed my belief in the expressive power of the human body and the transformative nature of artistic expression.
Following my graduation, I embarked on a freelance career, traversing Europe and beyond in pursuit of creative inspiration. Each destination enriched my understanding of the world and deepened my connection to photography as a universal language of expression. In 2008, I commenced on a transformative journey to New York, enrolling in a one-year certificate program at the prestigious International Center of Photography (ICP). It was during this time that I delved into the creative dimensions of photography, experimenting with techniques like “Light Painting” to weave intricate narratives within the darkness.
Another aspect I want to highlight is my commitment to authenticity. In a world saturated with curated perfection, I strive to keep it real. My images are not just about aesthetics; they’re about capturing essence, unfiltered moments that resonate with truth and sincerity. Whether it’s the rugged beauty of nature or the raw emotion of a human face, authenticity is at the heart of everything I do.
Moreover, my versatility is something I take immense pride in. From fine art projects to commercial collaborations, from documentary photography to philanthropic initiatives, I’ve had the privilege of working across a diverse range of genres and mediums. This versatility is not just a testament to my skill set; it’s a reflection of my insatiable curiosity and boundless creativity.
Last but not least, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that behind every image is a deeply passionate individual who pours their heart and soul into their craft. Photography isn’t just my profession; it’s my purpose, my calling, my way of making sense of the world and leaving a lasting impact on those who encounter my work.
So if you’re looking for more than just beautiful images—if you’re seeking stories that move, moments that resonate, and authenticity that shines through—then I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, let’s explore the beauty of the world and the depth of the human experience, one photograph at a time.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In the rugged and mystical terrain of the Himalayas, I embarked on a personal odyssey that would not only test my physical limits but also unravel the depths of my resilience. At forty-three, standing at a crossroads in life, I chose to ascend, quite literally, by taking on the daunting challenge of the Snowman Trek in 2019.
The Snowman Trek, nestled in the heart of Bhutan, beckoned with its reputation as one of the most breathtaking and arduous trails known to mankind. Spanning twenty-one days and stretching over 130 miles, with seven formidable mountain passes standing in my way, each step seemed to be a defiance against the tales of the legendary Yeti whispered in the icy winds.
As I traversed through the ethereal landscapes adorned with ancient Buddhist monasteries and towering peaks, I delved into the untamed wilderness where time seemed to stand still. It was a journey not just of physical exertion, but one that unraveled the fabric of my soul, revealing profound insights into resilience, faith, and the essence of true happiness.
Amidst the solitude of the mountains, I encountered a diverse tapestry of individuals, each with their own stories etched by the rugged terrain and unforgiving elements. Yet, it was in those fleeting moments of camaraderie and shared struggle that I found solace and strength, forging bonds that transcended language and culture.
With each weary step, I unearthed the hidden treasures of the Snowman Trek – not just in the form of majestic vistas and untouched landscapes, but in the quiet whispers of ancient wisdom that echoed through the valleys. It was as if the mountains themselves held the keys to unlocking the mysteries of my own existence, guiding me towards a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
Through my lens, I captured not just the breathtaking beauty of Bhutan, but the essence of my own personal journey – a visual narrative of resilience, introspection, and the unwavering spirit of human endeavor. In every photograph, I sought to immortalize the timeless essence of the mountains, weaving together the threads of past, present, and future into a tapestry of enduring strength and perseverance.
The Snowman Trek was more than just a physical challenge – it was a profound testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a journey of self-discovery and transformation amidst the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Himalayas. And as I stood at the summit, gazing out at the vast expanse of the world below, I knew that I had not only conquered the mountains but also the barriers within myself, emerging stronger, wiser, and infinitely more resilient than before.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I am constantly refining my ability to connect with people and celebrate their unique differences through my lens. For me, photography is not just about capturing images; it’s about delving into the essence of individuals and communities, understanding their stories, and finding beauty in diversity. This journey has led me to believe in the profound impact of legacies—those connections that thread through time, linking past, present, and future.
My involvement with international NGOs such as “En Classe” & “Tribal Trust Foundation” reflects my commitment to social and environmental causes. Whether it’s supporting education, preserving indigenous cultures, or empowering youth globally, I strive to use my platform to drive positive change.
In my pursuit of storytelling, I grapple with questions about the role of photography in shaping our collective memory and fostering empathy. I believe that by sharing stories that resonate with our shared humanity—whether they depict struggles or expressions of love—we can inspire dialogue, challenge norms, and effect transformative change.
The driving force behind my creative journey is multifaceted, rooted in a deep sense of purpose and mission.
My life’s purpose is anchored in the belief that I am meant to serve as a conduit—a vessel through which profound connections and understanding can flow. I am here to bring people together, to bridge divides, and to illuminate the beauty of diversity in all its forms.
I see my mission as that of a catalyst for positive change, guiding others towards emotional intelligence and fostering connections with both humanity and the natural world. As a storyteller, organizer, and networker, I strive to inspire others to embrace new perspectives and experiences. Through my work, I aim to amplify voices, preserve heritage, and ignite conversations that lead to meaningful change.
I deeply value the wisdom inherent in nature and the transformative power it holds. Through my photography, I seek to channel this wisdom to facilitate healing and growth in others. Nature serves as both muse and teacher, guiding us towards a greater understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe.
In essence, my creative journey is driven by a commitment to using storytelling as a means to cultivate empathy, spark dialogue, and build bridges between people, cultures, and the natural world. It is through this collective effort that I believe we can create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
