Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Robert Wright. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Robert , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
This is a loaded question… Am I happier as a business owner? Some days my answer is yes, but other days my answer is Heck to the no lol. I often think about it being easier to have a regular job because you don’t have to worry about overhead, if you’re not in management, and you don’t have to worry about others or their performance. You only think about yourself and perform. The last time I thought about working a regular job was recently. I had multiple truck repairs repeatedly. Truck repairs are normal, but when you have multiple trucks, and more than one or two have issues, it can become a headache. I was literally working out with my friend, Brian, who is also our fleet manager, and we got a call about a truck breaking down at a fuel station. The truck would not move! If you are a truck driver or in the transportation industry, then you know medium to heavy duty tows are not cheap at all. We had to have the truck towed from the fuel station and dropped in a parking spot. We found a mechanic to fix it, but then we had to have the truck towed there. This was a stressful night. Once we got the truck towed to that location, they didn’t even look at the truck; they said we can’t fix it. The tow company finally said they could fix the issue, but we needed to find the part. The part was in Jackson, MS and the shop was an hour and a half away. I almost had to drop everything to drive to Mississippi to pick up the part to get it to the shop. I eventually found the part and paid a courier service to pick the part up to get it to my driver to have the truck fixed. It worked out, but if I worked for someone else, this wouldn’t have been my headache. It all worked out, but it was tough. I don’t mind hard work, but easy work gives me a feeling of peace. I’ve learned to deal with what I can fix and change, and everything else will be what it is.
Robert , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Robert Wright. I am an entrepreneur. Wright Now Holdings is the umbrella company for 5 different companies. We own Wright Now Weddings, Credit Repair, Publications, Transportation, and Business Funding. Wright Now Weddings has been around since 2014 and has served over 750+ clients to date. I am most proud of the excellent customer service that we provide. My 5-star ratings and great reviews are reflections of the great service. We are warm, welcoming, and “Wright” on time! We pride ourselves on giving amazing ceremonies and demonstrating love to our clients. Wright Now Credit launched back in 2018 but only to close family at that time. We went full scale in June 2020. We have clients across the United States, and they all say, “We signed up because we trust you.” I treat everyone I speak to like family and build rapport with them so that they trust me and feel comfortable with me. I communicate with all my clients on a regular basis and keep them up to date with the progress being made to their credit. I want the world to know that in either company, Wright Now Weddings or Wright Now Credit, you’ll get the same experience: trust, love, and care for any situation. We use our experience to help everyone we meet and that’s what we want the world to know about us. Wright Now Transportation came about in March 2021 starting with 1 truck and expanding to 5 in the matter of 6 months. We thrive on being able to serve our customers across the United States with moving freight and moving it in a timely manner. We do our best to meet the expectations of our clients, and we do just that, which is what allowed us to grow as quickly as we did. Wright Now Funding has worked with clients to get them the funding they need to assist them in growing their businesses and keeping them in the game with working capital. I love helping people and businesses grow, I feel like its my calling.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When I started Wright Now Weddings, I built the website and built out everything I needed for it, which didn’t require much funding. Fast forward to 2021, I needed a lot of funding to start my trucking company. Starting a trucking company is very expensive from setting up the company to insurance and other things that you need. I was able to build business credit to get some of the items that I needed to help take some stress off my personal finances. I financed the trucks because I feel that using other people’s money will help you accomplish much more than my bank account could at the time. I went through a business funding company and did the equipment financing, purchased the trucks, and got additional funding through working capital to grow and expand.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I ask my clients to stay in contact with me on social media. Social media allows us to keep in contact. We like posts, comment, and continue building our relationships after the service is provided. Some of my clients have even invited me to events and birthday parties years after performing their weddings. I enjoy what I do because I build long-lasting relationships.
