Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Robert Trotter II (Stylèon). We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Robert , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Personally speaking there’s quite a few I can name off hand, especially speaking in the terms of Entrepreneurship it’s a “risk” everyday. Not in the tone of life or death but as Thessalonians 3:10 mentions The one who is unwilling to work he shall not eat. Yet I’m extremely humbled & grateful for the interview I still feel like there’s more , maybe a risk I haven’t taken yet that would classify as my true life changing defining moment. It’s still more work to do.
We all have heard the phrase “Life isn’t worth living, if you aren’t taking risks”…Knowing that it’ does come with extreme highs and extreme lows. As I’ve grown the hardest thing is remaining steadfast through it all. The real risk is regret. The regret of getting older or past my peak years and I didn’t make the harder right decisions instead of the easier wrongs. The regret I didn’t take the risk to truly create the life I wanted. The regret I possibly allowed my fear of taking risks lead me to a life of mediocrity. Life is all about evolving!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Robert Trotter II but better known to the public as Stylèon. Nothing is overnight and no-one should expect it too. Genesis of my career was nearly over a decade ago, my modeling infancy stage began in the spring of 2014 with a Gala Promotion Video in Indianapolis.
At the time I was still enrolled at University of Louisville working with the football team as a Football Video Assistant . When spring training came about in 2015 begin work as a Freelancer with ESPN/ACC/SECNetwork assisting with Pre/post production work.
I was funding my Entertainment career as I branched out to be a co-host on the radio in Lexington, Ky at the time the show was called Grind to Shine. Within that same year seeing the success from the radio gig , I started djing for best friend/brother BRXTN. I can honestly say between 2016-2019 life felt like it was on the up & up , before Covid shut down the world. We consistently had crowds rocking. We got the chance to performed at Rupp arena , Bourbon music Hall, weddings & corporate events. That momentum led us to Headline our own five city tour.
I would say 2020 was very pivotal for me just as it was for everyone else. Many adjustments had to be changed in lifestyle and daily habits I felt like it was time to add to my life’s journey. Kinesiology was my interest in college, having that in mind I wasn’t coming out of Covid the same way I entered. I started to dial back the distractions, and maintain discipline and focus when my motivation lacked. I began eating healthier, exercising consistently with purpose. Fast forward a three years later now I’m a Certified Personal Trainer at Crunch along with being a production freelancer. I also had the opportunity to host a few posing clinics , appeared in multiple music videos, been apart of multiple photoshoots & was one of the few finalists for Playboys 2023 Spring collection. Earlier in January Voyage Magazine released an article about me and my journey. This has been on the By the time this article publish I’ll have my Certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist with NASM. I also got a fitness event I plan to have together bi-monthly in the city of Louisville.
My newest addition to my repertoire comes from the likes of my mother who was a Gatorade player of the year in 1994 & played at University of Kentucky she help me start inspiring the youth by becoming a traveling Youth Basketball Coach with the PROCamps organization.
When training clients my specialty is Calisthenics, Functionality/Mobility & Sports Performance. When coaching basketball it’s Fundamentals (Pass, Dribble, Shoot) Defensive Mechanics & teaching the team aspect of the game.
If there’s anything that I can honestly say that sets me apart from others is my charisma, relentless work ethic & understanding time & opportunity. The fact I’m never satisfied. I couldn’t be even if I tried, everytime I look in the mirror I literally have a Chip on my left shoulder.
I’m most proud to be the son of LaTasha Peterson & Robert Trotter. Even more proud to be Brandon (Harlem Globetrotters) , Dais’Ja (NCAA D-1 athlete) & Barrye’s (NAIA D-1 athlete). oldest brother.
I want the reader & potential clients/followers to ultimately feel INSPIRED to pursue whatever their heart desires. Once you learn how life happens, you will then make it happen!
Oh yeah last thing remember to turn the lights off. Keep it D.A.R.K (Discipline, Attention to Detail, Routine, Killer Mentality) when you chasing the Outcome come goal while conquering the process goals!!!

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
What has helped me succeed in my field other than training/knowledge is being a genuine, good hearted person who’s authentic to themselves, one can listen, empathize, and MOTIVATE. I’m someone who treats the CEO & the janitor with the same respect. Not to prideful to ask for help. Essentially what energy you put out is the same energy you will receive.
