We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robert Shearn III a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Robert, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The project that’s meant a lot to Me is being a Patient that’s a Nudist on TV show My Feet Are Killing Me on the TLC Network season 1 episode 4. It was so meaningful to me because it gave me the courage to talk about myself towards things that I didnt talk about publicly. It also gave me Worldwide exposure and was in the media. Then it became even more meaningful when my scene was featured on the TV show Celebrity Watch Party on Fox episode 5 along with Tyra Banks, Raven Symone, The Osbourne’s, and Lindsay Lohan to name a few.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a multifaceted talent who is an Actor, Model, and Producer.
My versatility sets me apart from the others.
I’m known for Police Officer in For My Man, ATF Special Agent in Thou Shalt Not both on TVOne; My Feet Are Killing Me on TLC and Celebrity Watch Party on Fox.
I first started as a Model by being a Nude Figure Model for Artists, Art Students and Art Schools. It was natural to me because I’m a Nudist.
I got into the film and TV industry by attending acting classes at an accredited acting School in Philadelphia at Walnut Street Theatre Acting School. I also had additional acting training under Actress Tasha Smith at her workshop called TSAW.
I’m most proud of being a Recipient of a 2021 American Reality Television Award for Best New Cast for My Feet Are Killing Me on TLC because it was voted by the Fans Worldwide.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I wish that for brown artists there is better support and that its more professional projects available to grow in the industry. Also there are so many brown artists in the industry that have worked long and hard and still have not received accolades for their achievements
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Also The measure of a Man by Sidney Poitier who is the first black Actor to win the academy Award for Best Actor in 1963 for Lilies of the Field.
